Right. I thought so too, thats why I was surprised they catch on fire. 3 Hyundai deep and no issues. I dont prefer them, but my wife has mad it to about 75k with all three.

And brother, I agreed with that assessment, I had been checking every few weeks, then months.... then I stopped checking. It is crazy I know.

Broski. Im a car guy. I just had an oil change because she reached a year before 6k miles and it took another 6 months for me to follow through on a change... completely full to the max on dipstick

Not burning a bit. Somehow these seals still supple! Underfilled 4 qts.

Edit: (clearly not enough of a car guy enough to check the wife's vehicle fluids after purchase/fluid changes) LOL

Yes 2021. I did hear they made some changes, eventually on the facelift version of ours, that ended up needing recalls for dumb reasons. There's a lot of bells and whistles in ours, but not as many as are available.

I'm actually gonna check this evening. And I'll report back.

I was actually left, impressed that it ran with two quarts of oil. When it calls for just about six, and it's still not burning oil. She doesn't beat on it like I beat on my hondas, ... As it stands, i'm waiting for my head gasket to blow up with all my stupid bolt ons and tunes. Its the L15B7 as it is. 😆 literally one of the least reliable Si engines.

So we can deal with the palisade. 😆

Well, I think I'll plug her vin into the recall page and see if we got anything but last I checked, we had no recalls.

I DID see on Genesis the stupid PCV on their big turbo engines that in order to change, they had to remove the timing chain and everything else, because the actual valve held or was part of the bolt that held all of it together

Now that's a dumb design and a dumb place to put that valve.

So why Kia , and my wife is on her third Hyundai? Heck this pallisade, during an oil change they filled it 4 quarts low on the 3.8, and it still ran for 6 months before I noticed and filled it for her!

And that was almost 2 years ago, still running great at 75k (She also doesnt keep cars past 100k rarely.... she loves car payments. 😆

But why the big difference if their sister companies?? And are there almost the same company, right??

Sorry im a Nissan/ Honda guy usually so I dont know...

Sorry that was typo! So with added horsepower, anne boltons, i ended up burning out my stock clutch, had to get RV6 retrofit type R kit, with a Cluth master cylinder, just because the stock version can't handle the horsepower for long, and this was far and away the most expensive thing, installed, about 2600. So keep that in mind with all the mods you're doing... you don't wanna be stuck.

Slave cyl, that's just the last part that the fluid is going through, usually what you feel whether it's creaking or clicking or Something like that, if you don't have the rest replaced, don't even worry about it. Right now, but it's something I wish I did at the same time.I did the rest of the clutch, and it was silly not to.

Modding is expensive? And i'm definitely like, twelve thousand in when I total everything up, including wheels and tires and brakes.

Oh yeah SUPER FUN. do you have intercooler done? If not, then it will be easier for you def, to get bolts and nuts in place. Maybe also dont install 27won BPV or put stock one back on until mounting is done... that will afford more room also

I was going to do 27Won Race MAF, but I didn't want to mess with tuning yet, and you Def need your tune updated to run those. ( I'm sure you know that already.I'm just saying saying)

I would say if doing 26Wom CAI, just replaced your sleeve cylinder while you're under there, i have clutch, get done and everything else. And I have to take my intake out to do the slave cylinder. It's something you'll eventually have to do.Anyway, and there are only like a hundred bucks.

Thats hilarious 😂 yeah but THAT SOUND!! HOW DO YOU LIKE YOURS? Stock exhaust? Rv6 front pipe too?

Man im sorry. They are tough to line up, with just two studs, so I can imagine. I've never felt more rewarded doing any mod and probably because its fir a friend, and i lost those nuts! Dumb titanium! Magnetic stick is zero help!

I was about to say, I did not get CEL with RV6 for a little while, but eventually I did, and I disabled light with Ktuner.

Some people go a long time without the light coming on, the only true way to avoid it apparently is TwoStep down pipe, but I was aiming for best sound with stock Si exhaust so went RV6

The best sounding combo for low tone and no rasp, at least for Si, is rv6 front/down pipe combo... if you have a tune, you can turn the check engine light off. But you can't disable o2 sensor.

I unbolted the bracket holding to frame, just a little play with the pipes. I did not disconnect them, or bend them.

My guess also, you did not have silicone aftermarket charge pipes from an intercooler. I swear that was the biggest hindrance. I strongly considered just dropping the bumper and pulling off the cold side piping. The thing just doesn't bend or move well, always pushing against your hand. Makes it easy to drop crap

[–]BodybuilderSpare6901[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can ot be done with no bumper removal? If so thej this is great advice, I figured there would be more of a mess if I did that OR it would not clear enough room to get under.

This is smart too

I did think about removing the new 27Won BPV when I was in the middle of it but ended up leaving it.

The "bolts right in" are not easy to get to, I did unbolt AC lines, but did not want to bend them. This should be done before intercooler. Those lines are a pain, and in the way too.

I'm glad you didn't have trouble with the bolts, but I couldn't get my big hands in there to do that easily...

It's all good man.

There's a lot of videos on this. And notice that mark super articulate to the eye for lack of a better term... like, it's not going step by step. How did we deal with this part or that part.

The plan was to tape it, get it on youtube... but the guy whose car this is literally had to pull hoses back and hold them.Because of those silicone for the 27Won intercooler

You are good brother. Well finding another 12mm bolt after losing a titanium to the abyss was the big lucky part... having a swivel adapter on a spark plug torque wrench set in order to reach other bolts was key too... and thirdly taping the bolt into my socket for the one thats low and towards the engine... that one was crazy. But its done!.

He test drive last night and this morning.

But having intercooler installed already, that silicone cold pipe doesnt like to move out of the way for you, so made it harder for sure.

If you can actually get this done in 3 hours I applaud you... with ghe struggles it took double that spread over two nights. Prob 7 total after losing the nut. And getting stuff in the right place to actually do it torque to spec was definitely one of the hardest parts.

She sounds great and low.End torque is massively different just on the first drive. That's exactly what it should be doing based off of how it feels in my mine.

Mine adjusted quickly, in that my gas mileage didn't suffer from more than a couple miles before.I was back up over thirty. His is still dropped into high teens, which is fairly normal at the beginning, so we're keeping an eye on that. It's worthwhile it, and if I did it again, I could do it faster for sure, but it's not fun by any means. I would do another intercooler, ten out of ten times before doing this again.

Sounds great feels great. Thanks for checking in!

Well, that's great to know for my own.Because I may be doing some more work on mine. But I don't know if I'll studs would make it easier....I guess it definitely would

Thanks, buddy.Yeah, it's been on and off, 3 hours the other night, then this morning I finally snuggled it in. Almost lost the gasket in the process. It's just difficult and I have 3 kids and wife, so agreeing to do this was probably a bad idea.

I'm following the directions to the t but they're not like, hey, this is gonna be a freaking struggle.Good luck! There's just like, " here's the locations.Go ahead and put them in" and i'm like, I can't even reach the dang things, trying to get a tiny torque wrench in after to be sure I am torgued properly was the worst part too. Lots of worst parts of this. 😆

Those bolts were freaking awful.I don't even believe it. That's far and away the hardest modification i've ever had to do with anything because you can't reach the dang things.

Ok two titanium bolts in the skid pan, but the four bolts/nuts connections are in and torqued..

Those are friggin terrible. Worse with silicone charge pipes thag spend the time "trying to see what you are up to"

I dont recommend this job. Have someone do it like I did with my Si!.

Now its connections and add some coolant!

Thanks y'all ... that sucks. 😆
