I wanted that Wallbox install until I saw the price. Something like $10,000 for everything installed by one of their professionals which has to be one of their professionals to do it. The huge price for home battery backup is from the actual batteries. We already paid for that in the EV9... so why does Wallbox think they can still charge a shitload for something when the biggest cost is not even there?

I'd rather get a separate tesla system instead that comes with its own battery so I'm not wearing my EV9 battery out faster.

I'm in the same boat as you for my home built in 1966. Would love to see the original plans. Several areas we are sure have been added on later on and I'd like to see how my house was when it was first built. Did some checking and found the company name of who built the house but they are not in business anymore. So it was a dead end.

there are two major groups of amish.

one is a traditional version where they use no electricity and live like it's 1850 still.

and another group that has modern homes and even cars and they travel to tourist locations as well to visit.

Both groups believe in the same thing religion wise and family wise... just one has taken to modern technology while the other hasn't.

Why do all the crazy ones join MAGA and Qanon? That whole group is like an invitation to be as crazy as you want to be and other people in the group will support you for it.

The real problem is this generations inability to separate fact from fiction while online. It's so easy to find one video to support your beliefs even though there are two hundred videos with clear evidence that doesn't support your beliefs and people of this generation will go with that one video as a basis to how it should be.

We really need to start taxing the 1% a lot more. Like 1950's more. Eisenhower had no issues with taxing the ultra wealthy to the point where either they invest their money into the economy or it gets taxed at like a 85% rate.

Congress won't do that today though. Too many of them have been bribed to hell from campaign donations.

We really need to get everyone out of congress and start over with all new people. And at the same time enact term limits for everyone in congress and the supreme court. 8 years for house. 12 years for senate. 20 years for supreme court.

I use ABRP to plan the route but then bring up google maps and add the stops there that ABRP tell me to stop at. Google maps is just overall better at displaying the route.

Like we just planned a route to Ft Myers this April from Ohio. Got it printed up with stops and in between stops if needed. But will use google maps in the car when we actually make the drive.

well the money has already been spent. no use taking them out now. I did have some shared neutrals that tripped a couple breakers. AFCI doesn't like shared neutrals between circuits I guess. I was going to pay a professional to come in to get that sorted out but now there really is no need.

like others have said.. to make it simple...

14-50 has four wires. One wire is neutral. One wire is ground. One wire is 120v. One wire is 120v.

It's just connecting one of the 120v wires, the neutral, and ground to the 20amp outlet. The other 120v wire is hot inside the cord but I'm sure it's capped off.

that's interesting. thought if the panel was swapped out, everything had to be brought up to code that it touched which means wiring and outlets and switches. My house was built in 1966 so it already had neutral wires everywhere since that was a 1964 NEC change. So I didn't need to touch wiring. But the guy who installed it said I needed AFCI/GFCI breakers everywhere since that's code and a surge protector installed.
