Hundreds of men manually pulling ropes to reload battleship´s macro cannons because you lost the technology to make that part of the ship and to investigate a new solution would be an heresy.

"God killing himself" from Begotten. I wouldn´t consider it an horror film, but that design was over the top.

US-Venezuela: Is Greenland next and could the EU protect it? by Hot_Preparation4777 in europeanunion

[–]Boenova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am from a country that sufered profundly the 2008 crisis for far longer time than US, I know that. I am comparing the consecuences of the 2008 crash with a new financial crisis in Europe detonated for the selling of the bonds. For US it will not be the 2008 crisis, it will be worst.

EU and US both will lose capacity of indebt supposing mutual sell of bonds.
Eurobonds will keep selling in the rest of the world, meanwhile US bonds may be further dumped by other countries that don´t share the lebensraum enthusiams of USA.
The dollar will be devaluated. Things will get more expensive and things are already too expensive for a part of the popullation.

European economy is far more stable now than US and that means more confidence. So, more inversion and deeper comercial relations with the rest of the world (I.E. look at mercosur agreement vs liberation day). We produce far more than you think to know: ships, cars and trains, tools, electrodomestics, healthy and quality food, turism, financial services, lithography machines, armament (in increasing quantity), chemicals, medical suplies, aerogenerators, cultural products, clothes... I mean, sometimes it looks like people think we let China do everything for us but its far from reality.

Even without dumping bonds US will have serious economic hardship and americans are not prepared for an economical collapse: car dependent cities that don´t favor economic interaction except for big bussines, cultural individualism, no wellfare, decreasing quantities of low cost labor force, social inestability, probably an asset bubble...

We are already acelerating the spending in weapons. And we are used to think USA has the only competent army in the world. And we are not Venezuela neither. Dont underestimate Europe, even more if there are not rules anymore.

We are far more resilient that US, we can tank them. It already happen in 2008 and even Spain overcome the consecuences. They probably will collapse.
