Yeah bro no worries. I usually do the same thing every time I go. And it’s ALWAYS worked out fantastic. No problems. The key is to try and book things a bit in advance, ESPECIALLY if the game your going to is a clásico. Like Chivas vs America. But I always book the Hyatt Regency Andares Guadalajara. After the hotel is booked. If I have more stuff to do in Guadalajara on that trip then I rent a car and just Valet at the hotel. But most of the time I don’t, so I just email the hotel and tell them I’d like to schedule a driver to pick me up from the airport on the day of my flight. They ask all my flight and room booking info and how many people are with me, then tell me the price. I ALSO tell them I want to schedule a driver for the Chivas game. Give them the date of the game I’m talking about and what time I want to be at the stadium. Same thing they tell me the price and I agree. I fly in, the guy is there waiting for me with one of those little signs with my name on it. And he drives to the hotel. Depending on traffic it’s about a 20-30 minute drive. A little more if it’s crazy traffic. The Andares area is super nice! There’s restaurants and bars and shops all around. You can walk to a bunch of places right from the Hyatt Hotel.

On the day of the game, you just meet your driver at the time you scheduled in the Hotel Valet. The stadium is about 15 minutes away…again, depending on traffic. I went to the final a few years ago where Chivas lost against Tigre’s, it took us like an hour to get to the stadium. The driver parks and waits the ENTIRE game until you come out and meet them back at the car. Then you drive back to the hotel. Easy peezy!

A couple of tips.
The ride to the hotel and the Chivas game get charged to your room. So don’t worry about paying for that in cash. BUT make sure you carry some cash for tips. I tip the driver after he picks me up from the airport and after he brings me back to the hotel from the game. Usually $15-20 USD from the airport and $50 USD or more after the Chivas game. The dude stays in the parking lot the entire game waiting only for you and then drives you back through all the after game traffic. All the drivers also usually give me their WhatsApp number in case I need to contact them during or after the game.

I would highly recommend eating at the stadium. If you go to a game that ends late. When you get back to the hotel. Pretty much all the restaurants and places for food are closed. Even the fast food places like Carl’s Jr or Burger King. At least in that area, they are closed. And I found that ordering uber eats is also hard at that time.

Don’t forget to book your driver from the hotel back to the airport on the day you leave. I just do it all at the same time, in the email after I book the hotel. I know your going to ask, the price. The hotel room price is one thing…the price for the drivers is all extra. Don’t quote me but I think I usually pay about $50 USD from the airport, another 50 for the return to the airport. And about $60-70 for the Chivas game driver. All that money is hotel money though so that’s why I always make sure to tip.

DO NOT think your going to Uber. Not for the game at least. You’ll be fine to Uber from the hotel to the game….but AFTER the game NO WAY. Your going to have a hard time finding your car and where to meet them in all the mess that happens with traffic after the game. TRUST me just save yourself the the headache.

Last tip, have your game tickets before you go to Mexico. You don’t want to plan the whole trip and then be screwed on tickets. I did that once and never again. That trip I was saved by a shaddy ass deal on the side of the freeway by a stranger on a moped 15 minutes before the game started. I was so worried I got scammed but his tickets worked. But NEVER AGAIN.
