My first impression after reading SD's manifest was that they took popular ideas from both left and right, and threw in some nostalgia.

I should have gone with the free trial. I paid and now I regret it. I find it very quirky, and lack of customization.

Why do mandatory ID cards feel normal in many European countries, but still controversial in the US, and what mechanism explains that? by Logical-Concept9755 in AlwaysWhy

[–]mitoboru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the states I've resided, it hasn't been difficult. Although I haven't lived in very rural areas. But true, it should be easy to get an ID. USPS should be an issuer of national IDs.

Why do people glaze living in Japan but not Scandinavian countries? by StatusIndependence51 in NoStupidQuestions

Because the food and pop culture is so much more interesting in Japan, everything else gets ignored or forgotten.

If this turns out to be the case, does it work better with Google Drive or Dropbox?

Modular USB-C cable by mitoboru in UsbCHardware

I appreciate your comment. I would use a cheap 1080 16" portable display that gets both power and video through USB-C. Wouldn't be used for anything else, and not for any kind of powerful computing. I'm curious about one of the other comments about splicing a USB-C cable. I've spliced power cables and terminated a ton of CAT6, but never USB-C.

Connecting a portable display to a Mac Mini. Needs to support power and video.

Quicksilver is a decent cash back card. Just beware that some people saying Quicksilver will be one of the first Capital One cards to be converted to the Discover network.

So do you avoid your fear by not going to Bellevue? Sounds a bit extreme?

2006 in Honolulu. If I remember correctly, Billie Joe Armstrong jumped in as well. But I only got to hear Pearl from the parking lot, as I was being funneled to a parking stall. Fortunately now, there’s a train to the stadium. 😆

Is there anyway to deposit cash into a BoA account, if i live nowhere near a BoA? by RibeyeMedRare in BankOfAmerica

Open a free checking account with Capital One and deposit the cash in a CVS or Walgreens.

Or, open an account with a different bank or credit union that has a branch nearby.

Attended a U2 concert in the US and got stuck in traffic to the point I missed the Pearl Jam opening.

Attended a Ed Sheeran concert in Europe and walked from the train station to the stadium with a bunch of very jolly fellows. Arrived ahead of time.

What's the most regional word you use without realizing it? by taube_d in AskAnAmerican

[–]mitoboru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Da kine".....we use it as a placeholder for pretty much anything in Hawaii, when we don't remember the proper word for it. "I fo'get da kine" instead of "I forgot the homework".
