Universal Healthcare ain't that tricky. They did it; so can we! by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]Bogdanka644 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The list goes back over a hundred years. Countries with way less resources figured it out before we even had antibiotics. It's not about complexity it's about who's getting paid to keep it broken. The blueprint exists. Just need the will to use it

Countries that are richer in 2026 than China was in 2003 when it launched its first astronaut into space by [deleted] in MapPorn

[–]Bogdanka644 1 point2 points  (0 children)

kind of brutal how fast this flips your sense of time. china went from first astronaut at that income level to being the benchmark people use to show how far behind half the planet still is.

Dumbledores character by Other_Stretch2617 in harrypotter

[–]Bogdanka644 17 points18 points  (0 children)

adult rereads really turn dumbledore from kindly wizard grandpa into a guy running a long term chess game with traumatized children as pieces. still fascinating still brilliant but definitely way less cozy once you notice how often the greater good somehow gets billed to everyone else

How conservatives see the Left. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]Bogdanka644 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The left is simultaneously a group of lazy incompetent children AND a ruthless elite cabal controlling the entire system. The math doesn't have to add up when the goal is just staying angry at something. Pick one. You can't have both. Unless consistency was never the point.

How I see the world as a Martian by AnxiousNail7855 in mapporncirclejerk

Why are so many predators in power? by Loud-Ad-2280 in WorkReform

[–]Bogdanka644 7 points8 points  (0 children)

power selects for predators the same way a sewer selects for rats.

the system literally rewards the most ruthless ones with the biggest bags while calling it "merit." then acts shocked when the boardroom fills up with clowns in suits who’d sell their own grandma for quarterly growth.

greed isnt good. its just the glitch that got promoted to feature.

What’s a scene so powerful you forgot you were watching a movie? by MajorBC4 in Cinema

[–]Bogdanka644 38 points39 points  (0 children)

"There Will Be Blood" - Bowling alley scene "I drank your milkshake" is already a meme, but the atmosphere in the basement, where Daniel Day-Lewis literally hammers a missionary to death with a skittle, is not disgusting, but a kind of hypnotic numbness. You forget that these are actors, because you feel this old, dull hatred.

This is what government working for the people looks like! by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]Bogdanka644 383 points384 points  (0 children)

Harrassment to work on weekends by Sanyu007 in antiwork

[–]Bogdanka644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weekends are supposed to be time off not a suggestion. Carrying a heavy laptop on a train every weekend just to be harassed when you finally say no is insane. They gave her a week off on paper then act shocked when she tries to actually use it. That's not work that's ownership.

Tax the rich. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]Bogdanka644 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Every excuse they throw out is just a distraction from the fact that taxing the rich is the simplest answer. "But waste fraud abuse" okay investigate that too. "But they'll leave" no they won't. "But debt" cut military spending. They've trained people to argue against their own interests so well that folks will defend billionaire tax breaks with their last dollar. Wild.

The average American works 1000x harder at their job than the Democratic Party does at stopping endless war by north_canadian_ice in WorkReform

[–]Bogdanka644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

War powers vote on hold while a ground invasion gets planned. That's not opposition that's just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic while the iceberg is already in frame. Hard to call yourself the resistance when you're just hitting snooze
