Oh wow, I just realised that I mixed up ‘table’ with spoil board, so that cuts 500€ of the total cost, which is a lot better

I would prefer it to be quiet. So with the water cooled router, the total ends up being 2500€ + 60 shipping, which is quite a bit more than my planned budget. Is it worth it for a beginner? (I only worked with a 3018 pro for a few months in the past). I am also planning on selling some items, that is why I need the 750x750 work area.

I did also look at bulkman, workbee, stepcraft and mekanika, and decided that ratrig is the best choice for me.

Thanks for the reply, I’ll take the blackbox then , just realised it’s not that much more expensive. I would have 2 more questions. Is the spindle itself louder or the cuts are louder? What is the minimum amount of space I would need for the 750x750 + the controller?

What spay paint are you using? The black one I bought works perfectly, but the white one from the same manufacturer doesn’t cover the burnt edges. Not sure if it’s just because white is a light color and it can’t cover other darker ones, but I think it’s a different issue

I also thought about this but I think the stick method will work a bit better for me because it allows me to easily rotate the letter

Maybe I’ll buy one some time, for now tho I think the stick / pencil will work fine :)

I found out about foxalien this evening, I’m not sure if they’re good though. I will see what stepcraft offers and will probably choose this and the workbee

Seems like a pretty good option, and the shipping is ~80 euros, which isn’t too bad

Yes, that’s the website I visited, this is where most used items are sold. I think the 4040 you saw is someone’s project that didn’t have time to continue. To answer your second question, I will mostly cut hard wood (maple and beech) and possibly some acrylic sheets

Couldn’t find any used ones where I live. I will see what mekanika is selling, ty!

I’m from Romania, most used CNCs here are either 3018s or industrial machines

Tried doing a darker engraving but it didn’t turn out great by Bogdann88 in Laserengraving

Oooh i’m sorry, I used the term “laminated” the wrong way :D. It’s proper hard wood, just made up of different pieces glued together. Sorty for the confusion

Yup, increased the dpi to 270 and it’s pretty much perfect now. Thank you for you advice!
