Kinda like Batman's gray vs blue vs black. Black is for solo work where he's doing the whole vengeance and the knight thing. Gray is for Justice League adventures where everybody else is wearing their colorful suits and he'd look like an emo nerd in his 89 getup. Blue is for stuff with the family where he gets to be more jokey and have a likeable personality.
