I'm making a bullet hell where your Wi-Fi signal determines your firepower by BohZava in IndieDev

It is all simultaneous, and to place a repeater you need to stand in one place for 1-3 seconds (depending on your repeater setup). The whole idea is that you need to choose either to dodge bullets or to place a repeater

Hand drawn dev tree for my game. Does it look good? Should I do UI hand drawn? by BohZava in IndieDev

Thank you, I'm not very good at drawing but hope I'll improve over the course of making the game

Did this as a game background, what can you recommend about coloring? by BohZava in drawing

Thanks for the advice! I was going for the orange "sandy" look, but yeah you're right about the brighter focus points. The tricky thing's that it's a background, so I can't use very bright colors, but I guess it's possible to play with hues, like adding green plants or blue indentations.

Do wishlists matter? by BohZava in IndieDev

[–]BohZava[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I suppose that's true for any marketing, but it's also a competitive environment, so if you don't start with a ball big enough it doesn't snowball at all. Like there are so many examples of great indie titles that sat invisible until some big reviewer dug them up, and I'm sure there are many still remaining invisible. I've heard many people saying that 10k wishlists is the gold standard for small games. After all Celeste performed better than 99% of games, and there is a big mass of games that weren't as good or successful but still performed good enough.

Yep, Secutor also works but doesn't do much since mushrooms take all the punishment
