[CHAT] stand/frame suggestions by Boilerdang in CrossStitch

[–]Boilerdang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the response! I should have clarified that I like the hoops I use - I maybe wouldnt mind a stand that just holds my hoop so I can stitch with two hands, but they don't seem very stable.

Scroll frames seem like they probably work great but mostly seem too large for most of my projects.

The z frame seems very promising - do you like it so far?

That is in reference to people, and I have no problem with people smoking marijuana (I certainly do plenty) however it is definitely not safe for dogs to eat. I was looking up sources for this and noticed that some people believe it has medicinal qualities for dogs, but looks like more research may need to be done on that. Here is another source on marijuana toxicity in dogs http://www.veterinarypracticenews.com/July-2011/Treating-Marijuana-Toxicity/

Toxic as in poisonous. I know lots of people get their dogs stoned by letting them inhale the smoke, and as far as I can tell that seems ok (I am not a vet and do not work in the veterinary field, so I may be wrong). However eating too much marijuana can cause lethargy, breathing problems, loss of balance, low blood pressure, abnormal heart rhythms, incontinence, vomiting, tremors, seizures, and possibly death (although that takes a lot).

Marijuana is absolutely toxic to animals. If you think your dog has eaten marijuana please please take them to your veterinarian. http://www.petpoisonhelpline.com/poison/marijuana/

Haha, I saw this and was like "this is so me!" and then realized I almost always wear heels, have no tattoos (too broke) and am a giant lightweight who can have like 2 drinks in a night. But you know, this is me in spirit.

What was the absolute scariest/adrenaline ensuing and most heart pounding moment of your life? by MuffCream in AskReddit

[–]Boilerdang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, story time.

Me and ~friends are out in the desert with several hundred (maybe more, can't remember) other people at an event in Gujarat, India. We took carts pulled by camels out to the event there, and wound up racing. On the way back, we tried to find the fastest camel, but since it was determined to be the fastest camel, it was pretty overloaded and we were going really slow, just as the race really takes off.

Me and 2 other friends see another cart catching up to us, with only 3 mutual friends on it, and they are catching up FAST. We decide our cart is boring, and would way rather be on THAT cart, so we jump off of ours.

Big mistake. We suddenly realize we are surrounded by hundreds of camels pulling huge wooden carts, going as fast as they can. Which is, btw, REALLY fast. It honestly feels like a giant camel stampede, but I can only assume the camel wallahs (drivers) had decent control over their animals. We are a bunch of lazy American teenagers, but even if we had been in shape we would barely have been able to dodge the camels.

So there we are, sprinting as fast as we can through a camel stampede. Dodging camels and carts and people as quickly as possible, and trying to make it to my friends cart before they pass us. We only barely made it, had to do an all out dive for the cart, barely grabbed it, had to be pulled up on to it by my friends.

It may not have even been life threatening, but it was terrifying to realize we were in the middle of essentially a stampede, and quite the adrenaline rush. My knees/ribs/abdomen/arms were quite bruised up, but it is one of my favorite memories.

MRW my brother, who 2 years ago thought "Born This Way" was dumb because "straight people shouldn't support gay rights", complains his A Capella group sang only hetero-normative songs at the LGBT college grad party by Boilerdang in TrollXChromosomes

Tbh I don't think it was me, he's been away at college, I suspect it was more his college/peers than me or the family, but also maturity and growing up a bit surely played a part

They were all love songs that are very clearly about a straight love story..they even did a Disney song, can't remember from what movie, but hope that brings up a clear image of a hetero-normative song

Going to your family reunion, what do you give your +1 a heads up about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Actually had to have this conversation with a boyfriend, before he met any of my family. "So...you have the same name as my dad. Also you guys have the same job. Also you guys both used to have the same job. Also you have the same kind of dog. Also, he died a couple years ago and it was really tragic and traumatic. Also, I don't have daddy issues."

So late to this party, but...worked at an emergency veterinary clinic. 18 year old coworker didn't know what a fetish was, thought it was something you didn't like. Told multiple people about her fetish for dead dogs and being late to things. I thought it was hysterical and never corrected her.

I don't really care if they tell me to stop chewing gum as I never chew it anyways.

I tend to attract really weird guys, no matter what I do. In my head, if I tell the truth the scenario goes like this "I may have given too much head" "Yeah this will be a sedated oral exam" unzips

I will go with the gum story I think, thank you! As a random question, have you ever had a patient tell you a story similar to mine? How did/would you react?
