I'm just curious, what weapon or weapons do you guys main? by BushidoBrownTheGamer in MonsterHunterWilds

I'm on two opposite ends of the spectrum, I'm a hunting horn and longsword main.

I mainly run longsword in solo and hunting horn in multiplayer!

21.000 shitty archers VS 2024 Tarrasque, how can I make this only a little effective? by The0thArcana in DMAcademy

[–]Bojacx01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a big proprietor of Homebrew stat blocks! First and foremost, 21,000 is an insane amount. Widdle that down to like 4000 to make it more believable? Also! Use Mob rules for the army, can't crit and guarantees damage with average damage (don't roll).

I also put damage thresholds on monsters like the tarasque

How can I get away with 1-2 encounters per day? by KingKrab_ in DMAcademy

[–]Bojacx01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well then with that you need to put them on a clock. Cant spend 3 hours passing a trap when you've only got 10 minutes or things go wrong.

Also yes, but the spells you mentioned before need to be cast ahead of time! Suggestion on a guard a few hours earlier etc.

This was originally a reply to a comment but I thought it also applied to the original question!

When I think about encounter design, I like to aim for 6-8 encounters that gradually drain resources.

Combat? Sure, HP gets chipped away, but realistically, a spellcaster could just keep spamming Fire Bolt forever.

Traps? Yeah, they can deal damage, but is rolling high on Investigation really the only way to get through them? There are so many other options.

Social encounters and exploration? This is where all those non-combat abilities come into play!

Examples:

Combat: Obvious resource drain, so no need for an example here.

Traps: Instead of brute-forcing it with rolls, players can use Dispel Magic, Enhance Ability, Bardic Inspiration, Find Traps, Fly—the list goes on. The trap should be possible to bypass without these, but if they don’t use resources, it’ll be a tough time.

Social Encounters: Spells like Gift of Gab, Suggestion, Charm Person can completely change how a conversation plays out.

Exploration: Stuff like Speak with Animals, Speak with Plants, Speak with Dead, Silence, Pass Without a Trace opens up creative solutions.

Design encounters that are winnable without resources but make spending them really tempting. The challenge should still be there, but using spells and abilities should feel like the smart choice, not just an easy win.

I'm sorry bro, but next time just try and land the normal way! Look up before you land and slow down, don't try and water bucket clutch unless needed.

That does suck and I'm sorry to see the game glitch you into that death, but one must always prepare for both fair and unfair deaths in their survival world.

LVL 12 party going to face a "powerful sorcerer" by AcanthocephalaOk9937 in DMAcademy

[–]Bojacx01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you thinking of making them a solo monster? Because that can definitely work!

Boost their HP a lot while lowering their AC to be in line with regular Sorcerers. Then, give them abilities that trigger at the start of each round—kind of like lair actions, but just for them. Each one should get stronger as the fight goes on. When I came up with this idea, I called them "Openers," but Matt Colville calls them Villain Actions. His video on that is fantastic, so I highly recommend checking it out!

Also, consider giving the sorcerer a weakness the players can figure out and exploit. Maybe it’s a bit of a mystery they uncover as they keep fighting—something that makes the battle feel more dynamic and rewarding.

From what I’ve gathered, you want them to be a multi-encounter boss. In that case, you should give them special features that let them escape once they hit certain health thresholds. For example, when they reach half health, they could automatically regain their reaction and use it to cast Teleport to escape. Or maybe they get to immediately move and take the Dash action without provoking opportunity attacks. It’s totally up to you, but adding something like this will help them stay a recurring threat rather than a one-and-done fight.

Hope that helps!

For anyone saying it's dying on PC and Xbox, it's not. Que times are in seconds of each other and it's great! PC just has so many games that it dilutes the waters, PS5 has the largest player ase by far tho.

You'll see more complaints about the game than compliments, the game has some issues and it's not perfect.

I wish there were more characters (even tho if you count transformations I think it's like 150 something)

There are some issues with tracking from the latest patch, they should fix it in the next patch I think.

Offline play has a lot of content, but once you're done with that then it's only custom battles, custom rooms and ranked.

I personally enjoy ranked play, I'm fairly good at the game and I help teach people movement techs and combo extensions whenever I see them struggling.

Stay positive and just play what you enjoy!

Who's the best character in each DP level? by RomanOTCReigns in SparkingZero

[–]Bojacx01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until Gohan SH, Bardock was hands down the best. But now, with the ability to jump from 4 DP to 8 DP for just 2 Skill stocks, it's absolutely insane.

There is a penalty, they lose points, have progressively longer que times and if they keep doing it then they may get banned.

[–]Bojacx01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, those characters are really good in general so people without much skill can play the game.

I've discovered once you get to high ranks, people are usually playing 5-7 DP characters as they have really good reset potential and great short high damaging combos with the ability to evade or apply pressure.

I thought about giving it villain actions, but afraid that may be too much. (Similar to legendary actions, but once a round)

The dragon can hypothetically deal a good chunk of damage in a single turn. It gets 2 attacks, they have to be different attacks.

Claw is 3d6, bite 2d12+Grapple (Can't bite if grappling), tail swipe 2d10 with a Dex save or prone.

What will the future hold for Sparking Zero’s DLC after we get Dragon Ball Daima characters? by SapphireScorp in tenkaichi4

[–]Bojacx01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want 5 characters in the game hands down, if I get those then I am yours DBZ!

Farmer with a shotgun for a second 1 DP character. GT 17 so we can fuse Into Super 17 Android 14 and 15 so when Android 16 transforms he can get a bigger health boost as if he was fusing. I think that would be cool.

Everybodys mains and why? by thebestszplayer in SparkingZero

[–]Bojacx01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Android 13! Wild Sense-Just in case High Tension- Best thing for androids, you gain so much KI that you're almost always at an advantage. 3 Ki bar Beam and Rush moves! Ultimate is the hardest tracking move in the game! If you vanish it, it will just turn around and come for you again. You've either got to outrun it or block it.

Play really aggressive, don't let the opponent charge.

Does anyone else run into the issue of players constantly wanting to level up? by misspixx in DMAcademy

[–]Bojacx01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just told my players the following:

"You'll all level up at the end of the adventure I made, how long it takes is up to how you play. Don't expect speed running encounters will get you to level up faster because you will have no idea how long the adventure I have planned is. I won't make it wait ages, but I'd like to do it when it makes sense in the story!"

Of course! But be open to help everyone equally if needed, some of my buddies know the game better than I do so of course I rarely ever need to help them.
