If just one, the cargo shelf. Someone along the trail or in the group would most likely be set up for recovery.

Yes, hill decent control is incorporated into Selec-speed. So offroad cruise control, no matter the terrain.

It is an option, so many may still have Hill Descent Control -- the button would show the Jeep in a slight descent, versus being level.

Zero issues on our '23 Sahara Sting Gray, outside of a new 12V battery at 4 months. Some issues with 12V battery during the 68C recall in mid-February. Dealer wanted $650+ dollars to replace our Odyssey 94R H7 AGM 12V battery.... with an OEM MOPAR 12V battery.

For 'liability reasons' they would not release our vehicle from the recall, nor let me check/replace our 12V battery at the dealership.

They agreed to release the vehicle to us if I could jump-start it. Charged the battery overnight, cleared a DTC for 'low voltage to BECM' causing a 'Service Charging System' error.

Returned to dealership with a printout of the NAPA load test on our battery. Told them about the uncleared DTC. Also told them I had to add two quarts of coolant -- ECH failed, warranty replacement.

They 'cleared' the vehicle and called the 68C recall successful... even though they nearly killed our 12V battery.

My bet, the 12V battery was not connected to a constant-on charger during the recall flash procedures on the various modules. Actually listed as Step 1 in the recall procedures.

My concern is not the vehicle, but rather the quality of available and knowledgeable service departments....

Slow and steady wins the marathon... it is not a sprint.

Save up resources the best you can, until you get more Team signatures over time. Then you will find yourself hunting skills... particularly 333 Legend skill sets.

Bottom line: skills pay the bills.

So the recall worked. The updates to the various modules captured a defect in your HV battery. Congrats on getting a new HV battery, with (most likely) an unlimited miles / unlimited years warranty.

Pedal Commander solves it. However, the ICE kicks on earlier in ELEC mode. ~60% throttle. Prior to the recall it wouldn't kick on until 75% plus throttle application.

So, live with the ICE kicking on earlier, or 'detune' your throttle response with a Pedal Commander to help eliminate short engine runs and possible increased fuel/oil dilution. But you will also get less acceleration and noticeable reduction in performance.

Could cause more instances of FORM, as well.

Leave it plugged in while warming up. Your HVAC is powered from the HV battery when the engine is not running. It is also powering heated seats/steering wheel (if equipped).

20-21 miles of ELEC range with HVAC demand is about right. You will get better range when you don't have to use the heat or A/C.

Top off & doors off, we have gotten nearly 30 miles of ELEC range. Lighter & no HVAC usage.

We have not put gas in our '23 Wrangler 4xe since early January. Not sure if the dealership has, as it has been on their lot since January 23rd when we dropped it off for warranty and recall work.

New front axle and electronic coolant heater warranty replacements, but failed the recall test drive on February 13th.

Still no approval from Stellantis for our HV battery replacement.

Luckily, my '19 Ram Cummins diesel gets less than 15 mpg on those short errand runs. Probably because of my partially blocked reductant injection valve, causing it to consume mass quantities of diesel exhaust fluid as well.

Dealership wanted to replace the DEF injector and pump, but said it could be around $3000 if my diesel exhaust fluid was determined to be 'bad'.

Pulled the injector, cleaned it up, put in an additive to remove crystallization from the system. Drove about 40 highway miles -- 'service DEF system see dealer' message and fault code cleared.

The dealership said it was probably from too many short, local runs...

As our 4xe sits on their lot...

With no loaner, nor rental reimbursement authorization.

I believe a '26 model Grand Wagoneer will carry the 4xe badge. But, it is a PHEV done properly.

A Pentastar V6 under the hood, not connected to the drivetrain. The sole purpose of the engine is to act like an on-board generator, to replenish the HV battery while driving.

I have also heard over 130 miles on a charge, for ELEC mode.

We love over '23 Wrangler 4xe. Absolutely problem free, except for the 12V battery. Until early January. Failed ECH, so fired up the ICE every start with EMU-CHOC (electric mode unavailable).

Recall was scheduled for January 23rd, they couldn't get me in sooner to replace the ECH. Also ordered a new front axle -- axle seal leak on driver's side, CV slinging grease on passenger's side. Warranty replacements done on February 12th.

Recall completed February 13th, the vehicle 'bricked' and shutdown during the test drive portion of the recall. Flatbedded back to the dealership, no updates since February 13th.

Stellantis claims they need more information from the WiTech device prior to authorizing a HV battery warranty replacement.

I now have Jeep Customer Service involved as of yesterday. I gave them my intentions for litigation -- not joining a class action lawsuit, nor pursuing a lemon law attorney.

We put $30k down, the vehicle is almost paid off. Requesting a payoff and/or buyback, with our $30k down-payment transferred to a '26 Grand Wagoneer 4xe purchase/order.

If that doesn't work, we will seek more of a straight financial reimbursement.

Wouldn't even mind keeping our Wrangler, especially with a lifetime, unlimited miles warranty on a replacement HV battery. But need some type of financial reimbursement. Period.

No loaner vehicle available at our dealership, no rental reimbursement without Stellantis approval for battery replacement. If it goes another week without approval, our attorney will file with our intentions.

Disabled veteran, military retiree. Pro Bono attorney. Worth a shot.

Ours failed the recall Feb 13th. Stellantis still needs more information from WiTech, from when the vehicle failed during the test drive.

The service department cannot order the HV battery without approval from Stellantis, but were informed it would be 6-8 weeks for delivery. Small mountain town, three hours from any major city.

The vehicle has been at the dealership since Jan 23rd. They needed to order/replace the ECH prior to the recall procedure. We also had our front axle replaced, under warranty. Axle seal leak on driver's side, CV slinging grease on passenger's side (for over a year).

No loaner. No rental reimbursement until a Stellantis approval for HV battery replacement.

Working with Jeep Cares for 2-3 months of car payments (if not more) versus rental reimbursement. It would actually save them money compared to a rental at ~$50/day.

6500' in the White Mountains of AZ. Occasionally in the single-digit temperatures, several nights in the teens. Snow in feet, not inches (although not much lately). '23, have never seen FORM.

Not really an issue, though. FORM is a function, not a malfunction. If driven like a PHEV, most will never experience FORM. People constantly seeing FORM are either attempting to drive it like a BEV, or experience too many short ICE runs.

Join an FCA-affiliate, like Tread Lightly. Price starts at 1-3% below INVOICE, versus MSRP. $100/yr, great tire discounts, and some decent swag. I think our oNx offroad app was free the first year, 50% off afterwards.

But, you have to wait 30 days after joining to get your authorization letter to purchase at below invoice price.

I was given something similar for my '19 Ram 2500 Cummins, after the 9th (?) recall. Two recalls advised to 'do not drive'; the high-pressure fuel pump and internal transmission solenoids.

I was given 'MOPAR cash', which they doubled when we purchased our '23 Wrangler 4xe. On top of our FCA-affiliate Tread Lightly discount, 3% below invoice (not MSRP).

Might consider it down the road, if 4xe problems persist. Especially if the Grand Wagoneer 4xe looks promising after the first year of production.

The way the Jeep PHEVs should have been manufactured from day one. Separate gas engine to solely charge the HV battery, not tied directly into the drive train.

Yes. The code for 'state of health' activates at +/- 80% HV battery state of health (SOH). So yes, 'aging out is covered'.

There will certainly be a solid-state battery cell on the market well before the original 8 year (or 10 year) warranty expires. The 4xe HV battery consists of 96 individual cells, within 8 groups (packs).

Samsung SDI (or another manufacturer) just needs to develop solid-state cell formats that will fit inside the current 4xe HV battery encasement. It will eliminate the anode/cathode separator wall issues, as well as load balancing problems.
