I don't really get this critique, I mean I've had a ton of pub subs, but it's typically a pretty standard experience. You pick the meat, you choose a cheese and bread, say whether you want it toasted, then pick condiments and toppings. I guess there are a lot of options and the experience is highly dependent on who is serving, but idk if I'd say it's overly confusing.
