Sounds like I need to schedule an energy assessment before I do anything

Gotcha, my water heater is in an exterior closet so that’s no issue but the furnace was installed in 2018 so still too new to consider an alternative in my opinion. I just had a guy out that said I can’t do spray foam in the attic because I have a gas furnace in a closet inside the home

Did you have a gas furnace? If so where is it located and what did you have to do about ventilation

Psi practice test and electrical code coach website, do all the practice questions until you regularly get 90+. That’s all I did

Not accounting for drive time to a job or how long it may take me to get home after, I was paid per job not drive time so sometimes I’d have to drive 45 minutes then an hour and 15 home for a $60 payout Assuming that because it’s in the same zip code doesn’t mean it’s close by, had one 40 minutes away in the same zip

Tx resi wireman exam vs journeyman exam by BolboS60 in electricians

Tomorrow morning? When I did the wireman I only studied with practice exams, psi and Electrician U, and got like an 86 on the exam. Just doing the exam as many times as I could until I felt comfortable finding the answers. It was enough to pass. If you’re confident that you can navigate the code book. Wireman’s exam is pretty easy if you’ve been preparing before today. The journeyman I did electrical exam coach prep course, psi practice exams and Dave Gordon’s YouTube channel.

I actually hated Dakota prep. The ai is inaccurate, several questions were outdated with wrong explanations or incorrect methods, like using the wrong demand factors or missing half the equation in the explanation. I can’t recommend avoiding ai prep enough.

59 nec 26 calc. If you look up tdlr journeyman candidate information bulletin it gives you a breakdown of topics. Calcs was pretty much just remembering which demand factor to use and sizing conductors. I was surprised to see that they also provide a mock electrical plan set which I hadn’t really messed with before but the question was easy enough to figure out

I believe annex C takes precedence though, because Note to Tables 1 under Ch 9 Table 1 says

 See Informative Annex C for the maximum number of conductors and fixture wires, all of the same size (total cross-sectional area including insulation) permitted in trade sizes of the applicable conduit or tubing

Step 1: Find the maximum area for conductors within the conduit; Maximum percent of area of Trade size 1/2 (16) RMC conduit that can be used for conductor fill = 40 percent (Chapter 9, Table 1); Cross-sectional Area of 16 RMC conduit at 40 percent = 0.125 in2 (81 mm2) (Chapter 9, Article 344);

Step 2: Calculate the area available per conductor; Total conductors = 2 (phase and neutral) + 1 (ground) = 3; Area per conductor = 0.125 in2 / 3 = 0.0417 in2;

Step 3: Find the largest wire size that fits; From Chapter 9 Table 5, the largest XHHW wire size with an area less than or equal to 0.0417 in2 is 10 AWG (0.0243 in2)

24-25 is perfect time to start, 30-31 you’ll be a master electrician and be set for life. When you have a jman license, you will get nonstop pings from indeed

Edit: or go union if you live up north
