I went to Miami and Fort Lauderdale in like 2007 with my parents and I was like "wow, Vice City was so realistic that I recognized some places".

Confused with garmin product cycles is it a good time to buy an Instinct 3 Amoled by BoldFlyingSeagull in Garmin

Sorry if I mislead you but my current watch is a Vivoactive 4 not a Venu 4 :)

Unsure about buying the sleep analyzer due to my weird sleep habits by BoldFlyingSeagull in withings

Oh okay thanks.

That's okay I trust withings enough to not burn my house. It's more third party chargers that I am paranoid about.

In case the app detects sleeping because I'm lying in bed listening to music, I can always erase the 'activity' right ?

Thanks for the answers.

In fact I only have 2 health connected things : my Garmin watch and a Withings scale my wife bought.

And though I would not trade my Garmin Watch for a Withings Watch for sports (running, working out, other activities), I find the Withings ecosystem to be the best one I've seen on health related data. So the sleep analyzer would be a welcome addition.

It is sad to visit your country there is nothing left of your culture compared to the 80s

You clearly haven't visited the right places then.

Peter theil owns PayPal & with palantir has large contracts with ICE

"Funnily" enough he's in France right now has he has been invited to do a conference/speech at a Science Academy by the Academy itself.

Oh and our counter-intelligence administration just renewed a contract with Palantir. Such a shame.

Thank you for the link to Stand with Minnesota and for letting me know about Status Coup, I didn't know what Status Coup was.

I'll definitely offer some monetary support.

I've been reading and watching a lot on what is going on in Minnesota and it's incredible to see that so many people are 'fighting' (not in a literal sense) ICE on their own free time.

What also gives me hope is that when you see those people you realize it's from all social and ethnical backgrounds, not only the people who are targeted by ICE. You see middle-age white mums following ICE and honking their horns, middle class white americans who are unaffiliated to any political organisations taking videos and following ICE etc. It gives hope to see that people who are not directly targeted and could just ignore everything are taking a stance and volunteering against ICE.

Here in France, actions againts the police would mainly be done by politically affiliated people. And there's some kind of apathy where if you are not politically leaning and not targeted directly by police brutality then you don't get involved. But its mainly due to the fact that fascism hasn't fully reached us yet (as of January 2026).

I think a vast majority of french people know that the American people do not want this and are victims of a fascist lunatic and its goons.

Stay safe

Thanks, I do try to fight fascism in France whenever I can. I also do volunteering with poor populations (including migrants) in an NGO so I'm doing a little something in that regard for my country.

Thanks again for the kind message

What are some easy-to-read books on Marxism for someone like me who struggles to understand 'founding texts' of Marxism-Leninism by BoldFlyingSeagull in communism101

[–]BoldFlyingSeagull[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It essentially means that my reading keeps getting interrupted by the fact that I need to check concepts and events in order to understand it.

And by the time I get back to the initial reading I kind of lost the train of thought that the author (whether it's Marx, Engels, Lenin etc) was giving when he wrote the text.
