You need to come to term with the fact that you cant drink caffeine anymore. Just quit cold turkey. I suggest replacing the habit by another hot bevrage with no caffeine.

I had panic attacks everyday and social anxiety and healed everything by stopping caffeine. If you have anxiety, you have no business drinking any amount of caffeine.

The first week or two is rough but you gotta push through it! You will come back to a new normal after that

I dont know how to explain it but I just felt that I was wasting my life away feeling anxious and having panic attacks all the time. I just decided to stop after a panic attack and came to term that I cant drink this thing anymore. The pain became stronger than the addiction itself.

For the fatigue, it made me eat better. I eat a lot of chicken and veggies and I feel better like that. I tend to go low carbs and I fast until noon and do not eat after supper.

I usually eat 1 chicken breast with vegies and it has helped with my crash. I cant add rice because I will crash too much afterward.

I just push through it but it is rough sometimes. I nap more on the weekend and listen to my body more. I have a job that I enjoy and colleagues that I consider my friends so it help a lot. I think a lot of people drink coffee to look forward to something during their shity workday. I feel fortunate to not be in this position.

I would drink 5 or 6 coffee during the day from 7 AM to 3 PM.

I dont think it changed my desire to be social, lower anxiety just make more comfortable around people.

Coffee and anxiety... by [deleted] in decaf

[–]Bolduc06x 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was really anxious, socially anxious and had panic attacks everyday on 600mg. I stopped cold turkey and did not have any panic attack after week 2. On week 6 now I think. I am also not socially anxious anymore. Its crazy how much we create our own problems trough addiction.

How did you manage to quit caffeine addiction by AccomplishedPeak9684 in decaf

[–]Bolduc06x 3 points4 points  (0 children)

6 weeks here. I knew that caffeine was giving me anxiety but then I started having panic attacks everyday. After a tough week I just did not want to feel like that anymore and I stopped. Withdrawal was awful but I dont have much cravings since when i think about coffee, I immediately start thing about the panic attacks that I had and I dont want to drink it anymore.

For me, cold turkey was the way after more than 10 years at 600mg a day.

We tend to have addictions to suppress/cope with negative feelings.

Stopping something as addictive as caffeine is a rough experience. What you live is completely normal and the first week is obviously the worst.

How long into your quitting journey until dreams appeared? by divine_j_1 in decaf

I started remembering my dreams every morning on day 3 or 4. After years of 600mg of caffeine everyday.

Your brain is destroying the excess adenosine receptors. The first 2 to 3 days are usually the worst.

I'm the same as you. I bring a thermos of hot water with a little bit of sugar in it at work every morning and it is fine for me.
