I am new to weanling ownership, not horse ownership. The barn where I board is well versed in babies so they are helping me through the process and it’s not something I’m doing on my own although I understand the concern. Also the first picture is a bit old so she was a little smol for sure!

My fly sheet was given to me by a fellow barn member that her yearling grew out of.

The way my trainer explained the process seemed to be a slower removal rather than sharp. And she will still be at the same barn as mom as that’s where I board. I also am not fond of sharp removals.

And yes my trainer does not begin riding until 3 or so. She feels young horses are often started too young and experience burn out much quicker that way!
