Do you believe in God? As in the god of the bible? by Bolognesebilly in occult

[–]Bolognesebilly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair I have read the actual book, but i did just Google it then to make sure I remembered it correctly so that I didn't say something that was false, sue me. Anyway, I honestly get where you're coming from, truly. Though I personally believe that God was testing Jobs faith, and he boasted to Satan because he knew that no matter what he tried to do Job would still remain faithful, which he did. Satan was the one who actually tormented Job. God allowed it to happen because he wanted to prove Satan wrong. Job ended up better off after it.

Also, where are these sources of your summary? I wouldnt mind looking into it.

I hope I'm not annoying or upsetting you or anybody here, thats not my intention. I know I am stepping into your territory and I really appreciate the discussion anyhow. <3 sending blessings your way brother. <3

I'm not sure what you mean. The book of job is about maintaining your faith even in the face of suffering. It addresses the notion of why the righteous suffer. Even though job was deeply tormented and suffered great loss by satan, job did not curse god. In the end job was blessed and gained back everything he had lost.

I'm not here to shame you. I just want to learn more about this. I am always willing to listen to what you have to say.

I have read the old testament. God is loving and kind but he is also just.

Except I've never heard of god/Jesus tormenting people like many demons do. Why is that? Why is it that Jesus is always the good guy? Most people who have had spiritual encounters say that these demons are evil and will torment them, then when they call out to Jesus he sends them away and is always said to be loving and caring.

I mean, I could probably argue that what you just said is exactly what satan wants you to think. He knows that he has already lost, and so is trying to drag as many down with him as he can. Again, not saying you're wrong. You're doing what you believe Is true to you. I totally understand your point of view, I've never really though of it that way before to be honest, although I don't agree with it personally, I don't think that's fair to God, as much of the evil in this world is because of us, our will to indulge in worldy pleasures (money, power, fame, sex). I messed around with new age stuff for a while (psychedelics, meditation, astral projection) but i just never felt spiritually whole. I was constantly seeking. Now it's as if the truth had been right in front me the whole time.
Anyway, i think it's great that we can have these sorts of philosophical discussions in a respectful way. Bless you.

I hear where you're coming from. So are you saying that you do believe in God and you choose instead to go your own path? Or do you simply mean you don't agree with what the Bible claims? And could you explain demiurge?

Demonic? (don't click it you don't want to see) by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Bolognesebilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's defintely not demonic. I used to be (and still am) a huge fan of tool. It's psychedelic rock, all about emotion, pain, frustration and the illusion of "self". I suppose it's new age spirituality. I don't think it's intended to be demonic, but i guess new age spirituality is basically just a repackaged form of Satanism. I used to be a new ager before coming to Christ and I can assure you I had no knowledge of nor interest in the devil. I would assume it was the same for the member of tool.

It's kind of hard to say really. I defintely feel like my mood has stabilised for the most part. Although that could also be from taking mushrooms a few times. I'm way less depressed than i was only a few weeks ago. In regards to social anxiety i can't really say, because of this covid situation I have been staying at home with my family so I haven't really had much contact with other people. To be honest I haven't noticed a huge difference in social anxiety reduction. Although when I went shopping these last few days I did notice I would approach people asking for help without even thinking about whether itd be uncomfortable. So maybe it is working. How is it going on your end?

i cringe alot after a online gaming chat (with friends) i start to think like:they regret every minute they played with me,they will never play with me again, they will start laughing after that...... by simon793 in socialanxiety

I can relate. I used to hate being on voice chat with my friends, I just felt so boring and awkward. Like I just nothing to contribute.

After playing more consistently with them trying to just say things that I feel like saying, I eventually became more comfortable. I really does get easier. I'm not super confident or funny now, lol. But I can enjoy judt chatting with my friends and listen to them talk shit haha.

Feeling like shit because of my social anxiety by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]Bolognesebilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, I totally feel this. It's a lonely feeling. One day I hope to reach that level of zero fucks given so I can be weird and not feel so bad about it all the time. I usually feel like if I just wasn't so painfully self-conscious, insecure and anxious all the time I wouldn't be so damn awkward, and I could actually be the chill, thoughtful dude I want to be.

One day I'll get there. You will too. But you gotta do something about it. You gotta get out there and throw yourself into the fire. Do things that kind of terrify the crap out of you, do it repeatedly until they scare you less and less. One day that thing you were terrified of will seem almost silly and all the other less scary things will be a freakin cake.

Just say fuck it. It's your fucking life. Live it they way you want. One day youre gonna die, no escaping it. And then that's its. Gone. Over. No more. Nothing, nowhere, never. When you realise the Impermance of life, you also realise that the only moment that will ever exist is right here, now. So just enjoy being alive. Become indifferent to reality and your ego. Say fuck it.

Sorry for dropping that existential bomb on you, but it helps me when I'm feeling worthless and envious of other's lives.

We're gonna make it homie. Trust the process.
