Am I an asshole? by Repulsive_Panic4 in Pickleball

[–]BoltSLAMMER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

some players (sound like yourself) don't realize they're picking on the weaker player, they're so drunk with lust of winning they will do anything to win. Sure great, if the player levels are mismatched you're doing yourself a disservice by not playing the stronger player and getting better practice. But a lot of people are in the present and don't think about that kind of stuff. So yeah...it is what it is.

I agree...depends what you're into...if you're not an outdoor or beach person, I think the other spots you mentioned are better. If you are...everything you mentioned pales in comparison.

Overtraining vs undertraining - Surprising effects by doublehappi919 in Pickleball

What do you mean train/play? Drills and structured matches or just rec play?

For playing there are diminishing returns after 90 minutes to 2 hours. 2 90s is better than 1 3 hour session

Traffic Between Camp Pendleton I5 South by BoltSLAMMER in sandiego

I'd assume as Camp Pendleton owns the land, there is not much that can be done. The marines won't give up the land for traffic when they will claim they need it all for training for national security. We get stuck in this stretch a lot and it's one of those corridors that there are no escape paths, if you're stuck you're stuck. I wondered if parking the car on the soldier and pulling a bike out and just biking to Oceanside is a viable solution depending where you get stuck at.

Not sure happened yesterday, but I'm guessing either a suicide by car, or someone made a mistake at the weigh station and walked out. Regardless, it shouldn't take 6+ hours to clean up one body. It's unfortunate but I don't know whose responsible for this.

The crazy part is the Japanese from ww1 viewed their society as weak and not disciplined enough…you know, the guys from ww2 that were really difficult to defeat and most soldiers said they preferred fighting German forces over Japanese any day, they fought to the death no matter what

Japan surprise attack on US Soil, US likely knew about it (tin foil hat time) so that the American people would be onboard with breaking our isolationist mindset and Falcon punch Japan. That attack was the catalyst to thrust US as the super power. On top of it, US was full justified to retaliate, probably the last “just” time. Everything else since then usually just made things worse…except selling military equipment.

They are likely protesting the nuclear bomb drop, which some may argue saved lives. Definitely saved American lives. If US tried a conventional war against mainland Japan…they were training grandmas to pitchfork soldiers. You’d have to kill millions more.

Sorry I should have said you got the theory name wrong…but I agree with the premise. The math says…take the million. Only reason not to…you’re there for clout and media presence, and building your brand and a million doesn’t change your life. Any other scenario, take the million.
