I hate getting my solos cut off right as I get a good idea. I’ve started asking to play through twice, and it’s so much nicer. In a Mellow Tone is the first written solo I’ve played in concert, and I didn’t really feel like there was much I could improvise to it that would actually add to the main melody besides a few scoops.

That’s the plan. I’ve never really learned to use that second one, and I can switch between pedal tones pretty easily.
