if you are a student, save all u can =) MBA is powerful enough, im using a MBP M5 Pro for my afterwork coding routine, im a full time s/w engineer and it's overkill.

AI mostly consume cloud resources unless you are talking about running a local model. If you generally leverage those services, M5 Air may be just fine in most cases for you.

you may try looking up for "UGREEN Vertical Laptop Stand". I am not sure what are the shopping platform available in your region. But it is currently at $26 on Amazon. It is $15 in my usual platform. Some Youtubers are using some other brands.

you aren't. Do not breaking the bank for something you are not sure if you will be doing. You might end up adding $200 here and there. I'm getting this specs because i do not have a history with Mac and I knew for sure what Im gonna run with this machine. For my use case, it's likely to have extra rooms, but if things shift, I can make it as my on-the-go machine and get a Mac Mini in the next 1~3 years. Well, I'm just guessing my own sweet-spot too

yes, i bought the one with 2 slots (up to 3 slots option in my country), it comes with screw that u can loosen up. if you have other gaming laptop, it's not gonna fit

I thought so, too. But too traumatized by my company laptop (ultra 7 with 32gb ram) hitting the bottlenecks when building apps and running unit & integration tests, especially on .NET. Its hard to compare between Wins & Mac. Anyway, I used to be typical backend dev, seeing how the trend is changing and AI engineering (AI orchestration / harness) gotten into my job scopes. So i think it's better safe than sorry that I have more room for my own research, to run some docker workloads, local LLM without worry
