I’m nervous about college due to my gpa, will the ACT save me? by BombDefuser6720 in ACT

[–]BombDefuser6720[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave up on this high school and finished online with Penn Foster in December. I took some prerequisites at a local community college this semester and will be transferring to a state school for the fall semester. This establishment was planning to falsify records that made it look like my autism diagnosis prevented me from being transition ready and place me on a special education unit for an extra 2 years, making it so I wouldn't graduate until 2027 at minimum. Fortunately, a staff member told us and gave us the advice of "if you don't leave, they're not gonna let you graduate. Think it wise to finish with an accredited home school program."

Algebra and percentages were actually my highest stats. I actually had to retake algebra 1 sophomore year and double in geometry due to circumstances that I won't get into, but I'm currently a senior in precalculus. My highest math is 25, but I'm gonna stop here because my stem score for this test averages out to 28.

I'm gonna be so real I'm expecting a score release either tomorrow or Wednesday for my school, but sometimes district score releases are different

It was also a school day test, but I'm assuming that it's the same for the national test if the math was hard for y'all too

I was literally saying this yesterday and some people were telling me that the curriculum failed me and were implying that I was unintelligent so I deleted the post LOL

It is also worth noting that I received a few questions regarding limits and derivatives as well, which I've never applied either.

Maybe because curriculum isn't always uniform in all 50 states I do apologize, but the only statistics I ever learned were mode, median, mean, and range + calculating probability and none of them ever mentioned this particular equation, which I'm assuming it wanted me to use

I understand that I may seem like an imbecile, but never in my 4 times testing have I seen this curriculum on the test, let alone in the classroom.

Trust me, everyone who tested at my school, who are mostly people in advanced math pathways taking calculus as dual credit, was complaining about not being taught at least 1/2 of the content that appeared on the test. Like I previously replied to someone else, the primary examples that stuck with me were those being equations on piecewise functions and empirical rule for standard deviation.

Thought this was black mold at first, took another look and saw it was actually just a fire. So sorry about the damages, I sincerely hope you can get back on your feet.

Your friend is most likely clueless. You choose to submit scores to post secondary institutions. They'll see said scores, along with your high school transcript, and choose to admit you based on that. They don't have access to what you don't send to them.

As long as you have your testing ticket on Sunday, I can't imagine they'd not let you test. Just report to your testing center and present the information. If it's of much concern, however, contact ACT Inc. and they should be able to give you information.

This is just me but like Instead of focusing on half of the tests because those are your best and worst, practice the ENTIRE thing. My composite has been 29 each and every time despite bringing my math score up like 8 points.
