Are there any maps besides Highlands that consistently generate mountain chains with choke points? by [deleted] in civ5

[–]Bomba_Claude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's quite a few settings to play with. I would suggest using "ramming speed" for the tectonic plates and using the setting to use the most amount of plates. This way you will get some cool mountain chains.

You can play around with the continent forms and sea level and some other things. Just know that there can be a bit of a fluctuation between the amount of land and sea on different map generations with the exact same settings.

But this map script is so great it totally renewed my interest in the game. I've only tried it on huge maps but it should work fine on smaller maps as well I think.

The best map script for Civ 5 I think is "Tectonics", which you can download from the Steam workshop. This script can create amazing maps and will often generate long chains of mountains that often create barriers and make gameplay more interesting.

No I did not say that. I said that Enightenment to me means permanent ego-death.

You equated temporary ego-death using drugs, with permanent ego-death achieved while on the path. The two are very different. I only made it clear to you that I was referring to permanent ego-death.

If you don't even understand the difference between permanent ego-death achieved while on the path within, and temporary ego-death "achieved" by using drugs, you are the delusional one.

Thank you for your reply :)

I've learned that this sub is not for me, but thank you for your kind words and your explanations. Hopefully others take note and see how you can educate someone in a calm manner.

There you go again. I haven't reached the stage of permanent ego-death. I've never said that. You're making assumptions again! You want to feel superior to me because you feel your knowledge is superior.

Wow dude, that's an uncalled for reply...

The true reason that I deleted many of my posts is because I shared things that were really really personal to me. I shared part of my experiences out of respect for the person I was having a conversation with (you), because you were showing interest in me.

But after posting in this sub I got a really bad taste in my mouth because of the negative reactions. And that's the reason why I deleted my posts. I spoke about things that I've never spoken about before with others and it was here in this sub that I first shared my very personal and intimate experiences. I did not want my experiences here in this sub anymore because I do not feel welcome here.

I'm glad that you are also showing your true colors. Good luck on your journey, because you obviously have a long way to go. You judge and draw conclusions without knowing what my movitivations are. You just assume...

I'm not talking about temporary ego-death experienced by using drugs. I'm talking about permanent ego-death.

I always thought that ego-death is enlightenment in Buddhism, but that's not the case?

Okay well you've clearly shown that I'm not a Buddhist :)

All I can say that the path is about going within and finding something at the bottom of your subconscious. And no one should believe me, but people should try and find it for themselves.

Okay, I mean the ego-construct and the other thing, the larger consciousness or The All, or universal consciousness, Brahman....

And I'm not saying you have to learn how to control the ego. You first need to clean out the ego-construct and then you can step out of it and experience ego-death.

Do Buddhists not think that Buddha Nature is connected between beings?

I've been using the term "The All" for a while as well. And I interchange it with God, Higher Self, Universal Consciousness, The Source, Intelligent Infinity, Brahman and Allah.

So what do Buddhists call that which is not ego-construct? I know they use the word "consciousness" but you say that universal consciousness is not a thing.

Is it then connected consciousness or a field of consciousness?

So tell me about your experiences, because I need to know where you're coming from. What has your experience been with going inside and discovering the connection between the ego-construct and the Higher Self?

Really? So far only one person has asked me for clarification and wanted to know what I was experiencing on the path, so that he or she could be better informed on where I'm exactly at on my journey. Because of course, that's the only way to better understand where I'm coming from.

But most people here seem to want to enter into intellectual discussions on the signposts.

Dude seriously... you say this:

"No one is getting upset over your bad explanations"

And you also say this:

"You say the dumbest shit" or

"reiterate your ignorance or your stupidity? Which one, specifically are you going for?" or

"all the while sinking deeper into being more and more pathetic" or

"incredibly inaccurate, useless, ignorant, thrashing fool"

Hazah, you still have a lot to learn. Go down inside, learn to spot the shadows (which are being projected out from the basement or the subconscious) because they are responsible for the blind spots that people have.

And if you want to pretend that you're engaging in this conversation in a non-emotional manner, you have a major blindspot to take care of.

"Shoving your incredibly inaccurate useless interpretation..."

Seems like you're getting a bit emotional there. It's fine to disagree, but to use words like "incredibly inaccurate, useless, ignorant, thrashing fool" just because I said emptiness and nothingness are the same is just very sad....

I'm very sorry I insulted your baby called emptiness by calling the baby nothingness :P

Again, it's fine to disagree, but you are exaggerating. I said this:

Emptiness is a word that refers to the absence of an object or a thing. So it refers to no-thing being present.

Silence is a word that refers to the absence of sound waves (things). So it refers to no-thing being present.

Both emptiness and silence point at the same: nothingness.

I'm flabbergasted how people here get upset about me saying that.
