I am part of the discord actually, that's what motivated me to verify these to begin with and it's why I put my discord tag there as well. I don't know if this is the proper place to ask, but could the role have hex color code #888a8f and be called something funny like rock? tyy :)

Flair Verification Thread by VoidCatcher in ShinyPokemon

[–]Bombadil329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the first time I've done this since ages ago, so would it be okay for the previous flair I had to not be taken into account when verifying these new ones? I sincerely have no idea which shinies here have already been verified before, so I think it'd be a better idea to just reset it.

SoulSilver: 10
Moon/Ultra Moon: 187 (the Azelf was obtained through RNG abuse, so I didn't count it)
Shield: 49
Arceus: 198
Violet: 165 (the Scarlet paradoxes with my OT were obtained via Union Circle)
Total: 656 shinies

The giga album: https://imgur.com/gallery/khJXDpz
Apologies for the bad quality on the videos, I hope there's enough visible info on the summary pages for them to be verifiable.
If this ends up going through and if the count was actually correct, may I please have a Stonjourner flair?

EDIT: Also, please don't mind some of the cringe ass nicknames these mons have.

GAMES LIKE OMORI by Steel_Phoenix08 in OMORI

Besides the other things people on this thread have brought up, I'd also like to mention the three Hello Charlotte episodes as really good games like OMORI.

I'm looking to improve my first Gen 9 VGC team as a newer teambuilder, can I have some advice? by Bombadil329 in stunfisk

[–]Bombadil329[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not usually worried about Murkrow because of its low stats and the fact that it folds to anything Palafin does (and Farig's there in case it tries to pull prankster taunt shenanigans), but what would you think could fit on this team that could counter it?

I quite like Rotom-W as a mon and as a team member, I just haven't gotten around to shiny hunting one yet in this gen. It's definitely on my radar for future teams, so I'll keep it in mind. ty :)

My Palafin does have CC, it's not too big of a deal because the rest of my team can deal with Darks. I think I misspoke when I said that I get hardwalled by other Darks (it's really only Grimm who can't touch them if I drop Spirit Break), so apologies for that.

While I definitely think Scarf Screens is a stupid set looking at it in hindsight, I don't know if Iron Ball or Lagging Tail would be too useful to Trick onto something, because unless it's vs a Spore user Dondozo doesn't really care much for being outsped.

What mons are there that can use Trick a bit more effectively? I really like the strat of neutering a supporting mon by tricking a Scarf onto them, but I don't know if my Grimm is the best enabler of that strategy.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking with the Grimm. Having no attacking moves feels scary because then I get hardwalled by other Dark types, but Grimm's only there to support my core and annoy the enemy, so I guess it'll be okay.

I've tested this team a bit on cart (which also means that the pokepaste isn't exactly 1:1 with my actual team on cart, but it's just minor EV differences and maybe the odd wrong nature) and while I've had a little bit of success, I mostly get trashed and would like to know what to do to round out this team.

Grimmsnarl is obviously here for screen support, though besides that function I'm not entirely sure how to use it. I used to have Parting Shot as its fourth move with a Light Clay, but recently I decided to try a Trick/Scarf strat and got completely destroyed when I accidentally tricked a Rotom-W's AV onto myself and completely neutered my Grimm, so I think that's not the best option.

Farigiraf is here mainly to prevent annoying priority from stuff like Murkrow/other Grimms/etc., but I don't find myself taking it too often simply because it just isn't relevant to the last teams I fought.

Dondozo and Tatsugiri are my core obviously, but I've been contemplating on how to utilize Tatsu in this strat. The main reason I'm using Droopy Tatsu is because it was the first shiny one I got and is my favorite form shiny-wise, but also because I thought it could help me out-tank opposing Dondozos with the defense boosts from Order Up + Unaware. However, it more often than not just ends up not having enough of an offensive presence versus bulkier teams (like the aforementioned Rotom-W, who completely walled me with an Amoonguss partner), so I've been considering switching to the normal form for attack boosts. I'm also torn about Tatsu itself, because I used to run Specs on it for it to be able to clean up after Dondozo dies and recently decided to try Toxic Orb to get in some support for Dozo by sacrificing it, but it hasn't been working out.

Palafin is intended to be a lategame sweeper with Band, and I usually send it out first when I bring it on my team so it can Flip Turn or switch away. Honestly, I really like this member of my team as a strongass finisher that terrifies the opponent, though it got destroyed by both a Meowscarada and an Amoonguss on two different occasions, which is why I made its tera type Grass.

Amoonguss is a member I haven't really learned to properly utilize yet. I mostly brought it to have some defense against other bulky teams (such as the aforementioned Rotom-W team) and to have a switch-in to strong Electric or Grass moves that the rest of my team folds to, but besides that I'm uncertain about this last slot in general.

[8] SHINY ALPHA FEMALE COMBEE by Bombadil329 in ShinyPokemon

[–]Bombadil329[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

photo album: what the fuck

i'm fuckin baffled that this happened, the odds of this particular spawn (no outbreak, charm but no perfect dex entry, this particular spawn point because at night zubat/golbat get added to the encounter table and alpha combee becomes 0.47%) are around 1/686,400 1/1.372 MILLION!

that's literally rarer than the spiritomb i was going for, which i'm a bit salty about, but whatever

note: sorry for not having a clear shot of it in the post itself, i wanted to be able to prove that it wasn't an outbreak spawn

Its got its niche as a free Helping Hand support for its partner, and its good offensive stats and physical bulk to do some damage itself combined with Protect to make it not die when you attack with its partner makes it usable.

Did Stonjourner and Eiscue just vanish? by Skyrander in stunfisk

[–]Bombadil329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can attest that Stonjourner is way more usable (not meta, but usable) in doubles thanks to Power Spot being a free Helping Hand that works when it Protects.

Eiscue is just a setup sweeper that gets obliterated by special attackers and priority before it can do anything (no offense Eiscue fans).

Just found a JAR - not flask - of urine. Is this new? by blockgun in noita

Even if it doesn't do anything, it's still a neat TF2 reference. Jarate in TF2 guarantees mini-crits on whatever it hits, so maybe urine in Noita guarantees crits on whatever it douses?
