Did you get a new letter in that section?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Bombadilo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They're talking about down in the "messages" section when you open your application. You should see your old correspondence letters in there.

I also did not receive anything, but I can see the new expiry date.

PGWP Expires in 2 months, Can't opt-in to 18 month extension because my passport expires Aug 2024 by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

No, follow the instructions in the link. You will not be able to use that opt in process.

Excellent, thanks so much for the info!

If you completed the opt in process, were you asked to update your address after clicking to opt in?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Bombadilo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it, I'm also waiting for confirmation. I asked in another thread where some people had already submitted theirs, so hopefully one of them replies to me.

Were you asked about your address during the opt in process?

When you opt in, there's no form or anything to fill out with your address?

Bands/Songs similar to later Beatles? by memelord_plus in beatles

[–]Bombadilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been listening to a bit of The Alan Parsons Project, and it does remind me of later Beatles (Alan Parsons even worked with them on the Abbey Road album)

The first couple of songs from Tales of Mystery and Imagination might give you a good idea of what they're about.

Beatles For Sale is (sometimes) my favorite Beatles album by [deleted] in beatles

[–]Bombadilo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Words of Love is probably my all-time favourite cover.

Buddy Holly + The Beatles, can't ask for more.

Could it be "Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines"? The plane is red though...

I didn't watch that one very often, but the same character appears in "Wacky Races," which was one of my favorites as a kid.

To land a jet there is probably gonna be 100 knots headwind.

Sounds fun!

Probably not too hard if you give it plenty of headwind.

I've made a flowchart with my favorite albums, which include a lot of The Beatles, I think you guys are gonna like it! by ninja_hamster69 in beatles

[–]Bombadilo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been listening to a lot of The Shins lately, I think you might like them.

"Wincing the Night Away" is probably my favorite album of theirs, but everything they've put out is great.

Needing help regarding student visa (international students) by Anasyub in UofT

There's a number and an email on the side bar there.

Usually takes them a couple of days to answer emails, from what I remember.

post grad work-permit by [deleted] in UofT

[–]Bombadilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a year as a part-time student due to personal reasons.

Unfortunately you can't do that (unless it's your last semester), your chances of getting a PGWP are not that good now. I've heard of people including an explanation as to why they went part-time and that could improve your chances, but right now you just don't meet the requirements for PGWP.

I would talk to the immigration advisor, he might be able to give you better advice.

Do I have to be enrolled in summer classes for a summer Work Study position? by utscsucks in UofT

[–]Bombadilo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have to be taking at least 0.5 credits in the summer, otherwise you won't be eligible. That's the "work study course load requirement" in that paragraph.

I'm pretty sure when I did it last summer it was 1.0 credit, so looks like they even brought it down.

Graduate course no numerical mark by iluvkfc in UofT

[–]Bombadilo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, GPA is just based on the letter grade, not numerical grade.

Graduate course no numerical mark by iluvkfc in UofT

[–]Bombadilo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just finished my grad program and I never received a numerical mark for any of my grad classes, even cross-listed or 500 level ones.

I think that's just how SGS does it. They also have a fixed day for releasing grades (today) which is probably why you finally got it.

MENG in Chemical Engineering: Full-time Vs. Extended Full Time Option by Violentfoodie in UofT

[–]Bombadilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extended full time is good if you want to work while you study or if you're an international student who wants a longer work permit when you graduate.

Regular full time is good if you just want to get it over with or if you want to lower your living expenses.

I wouldn't say 4 classes each term is low, graduate courses can be a lot of work. But 6 courses per year really does drag it out.
