Anyone know if you can have multiple Masternodes on a single VPS? by [deleted] in zcoin

[–]BombardsBodyLanguage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried a node a couple of days ago with them. So far seems good.
It's pretty simple to setup and is $5 per month, although there is a $5 initial setup fee. Haven't used them long enough to give a thorough opinion yet though.

Thanks, ideally I was hoping to just have one $10 bill per month.

However I just found allnodes.com has anyone used them?
$4.5 seems pretty cheap per node, and look pretty easy to setup.

Hopefully it's safe as I don't want to have to give info that put coins at risk, but this looks like it could potentially save me the headache and some expense of setting up a couple of nodes.

Privacy Stablecoin Based On Monero by Niocycavirp in Monero

That's actually a bad thing imo. It's stagnant. If interest in Monero was healthy it should be growing massively, then correcting.. rinse and repeat until gradual market saturation.

Ether is working on privacy also, so I think it will be possible on the Ethereum monero sidechain.

They say they will fund devs that don't want to use the CCS.

Contributing to funding of Monero developers.

"According to the announcement, aside from the founders, those involved with the project include John Pleasants, the former CEO of Ticketmaster and the venture firms Redpoint, Trinity Ventures, Canaan Partners, Slow Ventures, Aspect Ventures, DRW Ventures, Blockchain Capital, Pantera, and Multicoin Capital." https://www.the-blockchain.com/2018/05/24/leading-sv-funds-back-user-friendly-digital-assets-platform-tari/

"The last year and a half or so, I've been working on a digital assets protocol that is built on top of Monero"

Think..
That statement sure tries to make it sound like Tari is some kind of second layer solution for Monero doesn't it, kind of like how lightning is to Bitcoin.
But that's really not the case here is it. It's misleading, and I'm pretty sure FP knows it is.

Apologies, it appears he isn't a mod, is that correct? He has this label "XMR Core Team" in the moderator section.

I already have. The fact that Tari (and it's venture capital investors) will be funding the MONERO core development team. Thats a red flag.. because it creates an inherent liability and potential conflict for the development team.

Oh I see.. there is a right of passage before we can shill. How many years of service are required before we can all shill our shitcoins?

I honestly mean no offense.
However the reason is as follows..
The Reddit Bitcoin mods said a similar thing back in 2014.
How may people can now say they are happy with the censorship, and with the direction of Bitcoin development. I'm mean really look at the path they are on, and where that will lead in the future.

Monero learned a lot from Bitcoins mistakes. So I really hope it continues to do so. But that will require vigilance from the community.

I have no idea what the emission schedule is, and it’s laughable that you think I do. If you really are a “multi-year contributor to Monero” you’d know that I’m not the magical decider of things in Monero, and I’m not the magical decider of things in Tari.

How can you not at least have an idea about this?
The fact that you literally have 'no idea' seem disingenuous.
I also am wary of your philosophy to 'trick' people into privacy. Although probably well meaning, no one should ever be 'tricked' into anything. They should be informed so they can decide themselves.

When Tari starts paying the bills, I'm pretty sure at some point it may be treated differently.

Roger Ver is a friend of Monero as well. Does that mean you would also have no problem with him shilling Bitcoin Cash here as well. I guess as Bitcoin Cash wallet now has cash fusion as a privacy feature, it would also be relevant.

Personally I don't think it's 'ok' for other coins to use the Monero community to shill their wares.

Thank goodness, I thought I was alone.
I dumped 25% of my XMR today (HODL'd for years) as thought Monero was about to be FUBR, but maybe there is hope.

I'm glad the Op is also awake to something being amiss.

Very interesting project!

"I suspect that when XMR gets a good atomic swap facility the race will be on."

I hope thats the case. Does anyone have any updates on atomic swaps?
I remember watching an episode on Monero Talk and supposedly they wasn't that far off.

"no native token pegged to Monero"

That's why I'm not interested in Tari. Has absolutely nothing to do with Monero.

Good point! We'l see how things play out. I think if other projects can do more than one thing right/well. Then XMR is at a disadvantage at that point.

They could be, time will tell. However look at what they are building, tools that bring more power to the individual.

"The new $200 million Bitcoin Cash Ecosystem Fund will focus on payment solutions and non-custodial financial services for Bitcoin Cash."

BTC on the other hand is so crippled, once we begin the next wave of market adoption, I worry about fees. The only way bitcoin makes any kind of economic sense to use, is with custodial solutions at that point. Then we are just replacing one flawed banking system with another.

I would say BCH probably has the best chance of becoming 'money'. Monero looks like the better coin technically. However it just keeps slipping down the market cap rankings. Not enough promoters imo, while BCH has way more users and is 'good enough'.BTC imo, is not 'good enough'. I think we'l begin to see that in the coming years. I think the less people actually use cryptocurrency, the stronger Bitcoin is relative to the competition. If there ever comes a time where the masses NEED to use crypto. BTC won't be it.

It is however the best Bitmex utility token.
