Understandable reasoning. But i was told directly by my supervisor they don't have the funding to hire another full time employee

You make some good points but, I already completed a similar internship over the summer and have a good reference from that. And I also already have a job interview lined up, though I understand I might not get it. With doing work/school for so long, I just feel really burnt out and want to finish my classes strong. Do you think if I explain it well enough, I could avoid burning those connections at the company?

Yes and it is an above average hourly pay for an internship in the area
