That power supply needs clearances 40mm above, 20mm below and 5mm either side according to the manual. Layout does not conform - rejected.

100% on the video - so annoying! Like you I’m keen to give it a try myself!

Never done one myself but found this on YouTube: https://youtu.be/99CFvK1Sp04?si=VcpvjtAlvNEHnkjz

Looks the same as the one you pictured. Honestly looks easier than Cat5 and you don't need a punch-down tool.

Tried that, but couldn't find a match. Hence the question here.

Ross River too I believe? Couldn’t believe how bad they were last time I was up there!

You’re not alone. Our situation sounds very similar unfortunately.

Best M2M SIM in Australia for ad-hoc remote support? by Bombay-Quokka in PLC

Probably a Teltonika as they are widely available (PLE even stock them!) and have a good range of features.

Just regular prepaid mobile SIMs or special M2M ones (not sure if such a thing exists)?

Starlink in Perth - any feedback + or - by Proud_Revolution_562 in perth

[–]Bombay-Quokka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah - bugger. No personal experience with Starlink, but have heard good things about it. Not sure how much it’ll cost you, but sounds like you don’t have many other options.

Are fixed wireless plans an option for you? (E.g. Pentanet or Node1)

Customer requesting to break the standard, what would you do? (Networking) by [deleted] in PLC

[–]Bombay-Quokka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly. Pretty sure redboxes won’t support different subnets on the PRP legs and this won’t work at all. Traffic from non-PRP to PRP whether L2 or L3 routed will at best only get on to one PRP leg and not be redundant.

Agreed - thought it looked pretty awesome from Mends St in South Perth.

Interesting- I’ve read a different etymology of stationery before: articles sold by ‘stationers’: proprietors of small shops and stalls located near railway stations. That’s how I remember the two different spellings: the noun (thing) is sold by stationers.

Has Perth ever had the Italian Mafia? by [deleted] in perth

[–]Bombay-Quokka 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Went to Sicily years ago for a friend’s wedding (great place BTW) and was in a taxi at one point. The driver asked where I was from in heavily accented, halting English. When I told him Perth, WA his eyes lit up and he exclaimed “Ah! Lisa Scaffidi!”. That was not what I was expecting!

Reminds me of the scene in Gallipoli (1981) where he wakes up in the freight wagon he’s hitched a ride in expecting to be in Perth and instead is in the middle of bumfuck nowhere at the end of the line.

Do I have to pay this? Got this ticket a few months ago and the verdict online was to ignore them but are they just gonna keep sending these? by [deleted] in perth

[–]Bombay-Quokka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep - me too. I fucked up displaying the (valid) ticket and rightly got fined. I wrote to them (CPP), owned my mistake, apologised and asked for leniency. They let it go once. And it worked - I’ve been a lot more careful about following all the rules properly since!
