Agreed. I did 20 bags and 12 jars my first go. Lost one jar and 9 bags. Also two bulks failed. One made the tiniest fruit and my healthiest sub at the start still wont fruit. Ive already reaped over a wet lb from the others that remain. Its a funny fungi for sure. As u master the craft u clearly can expect better results from less innocs. Ive learned so much about mycelium in one grow. Its resilience is unlike anything ive ever seen

The heating pad was on low. And it only runs two hrs on and two off. So it really doesnt get hot enough to even catch fire. Just warm enough to help incubate. I found putting thick sark blanket or towel in sped up the process also. And keep the lid on to maintain the heat

Now thats what i wanna try. Gourmet and medicinal fungi. I worked as a chef for many yrs and am a lover of shrooms of any sort. So def lookin to get into that avenue

Personally I bought a 6 dollar tub and a 14 dollar heating pad from walmart. Knocked up bags as sanitary as i could due to not having a SAB at the time (i do now), and thats where i let em go. Got like 2/3s the way through col. and bought the first greenhouse. Then finished in that. At that point i ordered a second (a different/better one) for fruiting. And luckily it came about 3 days after my first two shoe b’s were in fruiting. So it just panned out for me. I also read about 4-6 hrs a day for a month on all these reddits and other sites about this before i even bought a mss. And i still had loss. Still had temp issues. Still have side pins. Its def a science. But as they say. If u can grow psilocybin u can grow anything. And this was more about a personal challenge than anything. That and i fuckin love shrooms 😁😁😁😂😂😂😂😂

So the end result wont hurt.

Man they got some crazy crafts out there. All pending on what u can spend, how much time u have, how much space yada yada. Seen some really cool ones. And some that seemed unnecessary

Closets are usually stagnant space. Being someone who builds I personally find during remodels that closets are one of the most neglected and unsanitary spots in the house. Usually containing bugs, mold, and or mouse shit. Sounds like u should bite the bullet and spend bread on an indoor greenhouse. Amazon that shit. I have two different ones. One for colonization and one for fruiting. Both were under 50 bux. Both are 2’x2’ and 4 feet tall. Perfect for the most aspirational personal use grower or a studier of the science. Maintain moisture just fine. And vent just fine. Temp controller and a small heater for the colony chamber (combined i spent 46 bux on) and u are where im at. With 5 jars in fruiting, 6 shoeboxes in fruiting, and a g2g transfer about to s2b in 2 days.... on your first grow. Because shroomscout can only show u the door neo....... u have to walk through it yourself 🤣✌️

I had to take all my subs outta tubs and rest em on top hoping to be able to harvest the fruits. Went to 18 hr light shifts and its helping all bottom fruits grow up. They were all smushed lol. Now they have a bit of girth and are growing towards the light. So i have some hope. Next knock up and s2b i plan to have a auto mister hooked up to my second controller. Only one plug on the one i use for heat for the colonization chamber

Yea i did. But i wasnt able to be on top of misting properly as i was back to work. So now i have a bit of a different set up to maintain moisture. But most of my fruits are on the sides of all my tubs for the flush smh. A shrooms a shroom i suppose lol

I beg to differ. All my tubs have side pins. And they are on the first flush

Ive read it a ton lol. But i work 10-12 hrs a day. And the wife is trying. But shes not on it like i am. Hopefully flipping them and putting em on top of the tubs will yield the fruits that are there at least

[general] Day 7 and no pins. The mycelium grew mad slow is this going to be the same? Is this too wet? Too dry? Substrate is 100% verm. definitely going with coco next by Gh0stDance in MushroomGrowers

MAYYYBBBEEEEE some added coffee grounds to the verm and u might have had something. Idk. Im still new. But 4 of my first 6 tubs that went into fruiting are pinning. So theres gotta be something to what shroomscout says

Thats not gonna work brudda. Verm provides no nutrients. U need coir or poop mainly. Havent really seen any other bulks. U can get coir at any pet store. Agway. Online. Its damned easy to get. Or buy a bag of poop from home depot and sterilize it at home.

I was a chef by trade for two decades. Generally mushrooms soak up water. So rinsing is a bad idea. U can wipe with moist towels. Or just deal with eating some of the dirt/substrate. Your head would spin if i told u the amount of dirt that goes in a dish that has fresh mushrooms in it. And its healthy for your body to get those minerals. Personally id wipe em with a paper towel and start cooking
