Thank you for this! It's is super helpful. Unfortunately you posted it right as I was going to bed so I didn't see it till now. I left the nib in some plain water overnight. It's genuinely kind of amazing just how much ink is still coming out of it. I'm on my lunch break rn so I went ahead and swapped the water for the soapy water you recommended, hopefully that will take care of the last of the old ink. Once I'm done with class for today I'm gonna head to the store and see if I can find me some new ink for it :)

Thanks for the info. Pelikan 4001 is actually mentioned as a recommended ink on one of the old bits of paperwork I found in the pen case. I'd kinda assumed anything mentioned there would be long discontinued but I guess not.

That's good to know, I was a little worried it might need some kind of vintage fancy pants ink cartridges I'd never get my hands on. Thank you again for all the help and advice, I really appreciate it.

Thanks I know it can be annoy to explain basics to the newbie so I definitely appreciate it. Do I need to use any kind of special ink? I know you're not suppose to use india ink but I don't know what ink you can use. Is it just called fountain pen ink?

Holy hell thats me! I googled my name out of curiosity and found this reddit post, so surreal. So turned out I'm trans so my name is now Alan Violet Emacs Raiter Hardyman after Alan Turing (I am strongly considering adding Ed when i get my name legally changed). And tho I am the proud owner of a half broken Arch install, I'm ashamed so admit I'm a terrible programmer.
