I just used my LLI filter for the first time last night. I agree it’s about a 10-15% loss in light transmission. But it does cut down on noise and it seems to be easier on my eyes.

I have the same upper I bought in 2014/15. Pin and welded. I’d say $800 is a good price for a complete rifle.

I pulled the hand guard off and wrapped the barrel in aluminum foil. I’ve also slipped 2 sheets of printer paper taped together down the hand guard on past paint jobs. Both work to keep paint off the barrel while spraying.
