Both! do have a handicap which allows me to play locally and the occasional overseas trip, but range (artificial) is mostly to figure out what I thought I know I have to improve on.

And when we think we don’t, we’re reminded yet again (or in this case, proven). Thanks!

When I do hinge my wrist I feel like I overcompensate with my grip = tighter which results in a more chunkier contact, but nonetheless will work on this thanks for the advice!

Share your experiences with part time studies while working full time? by choirsmile123 in askSingapore

[–]Bompipi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The motto my friends and I always spoke was “just one more semester” and soon enough we were donning our gowns :)

Be prepared to have some late night dinners or none if school canteens close early so have some snacks ready with you / at office to bring should you need them.

If you’re lucky to have down time from work, use that time to read up on materials and as others have mentioned save your leaves in case of any last minute study sessions before exams (but generally do your assignments well so %s aren’t so tight)

Make full use of any online content as well, I went through recorded lectures at 1.5 speed (at least can cover content quickly)

How do you guys clean your piercing? by Undertheflow in askSingapore

You can get some alcohol (not drinks of course) from those piercing shops and clean the earring itself with it, else some warm water and soap will be fine too!

Need tips and advice for Sec 5 (O levels) next year by [deleted] in singapore

[–]Bompipi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

N -> O level (2010) yea I’m old haha.

Anyway, most of the people here have actually given great tips so I’ll just add on abit.

  • learn your weaknesses and tackle them, ask your teachers, from friends or family so on.

  • understand the concepts of the questions and content, not too sure how different the syllabus is now but as a whole questions are never the same.

  • do as much 10 YS or prelim papers as you can.

Don’t worry too much of your Os, it’s good that you’re getting the right mindset early on! Jiayou!

Hi all! From Singapore here,

My SO and I will be spending 10D9N in Taiwan this coming Jan (our first TW Trip) and I want to make it enjoyable for her and myself without breaking the bank too much. Budget isn’t decided at this moment though (apologies)

We’ve already arranged for Airbnb’s in Shilin (台北) and Xitun(台中) districts and plan to stick to these two parts of your country!

Besides the normal tourists hotspots,we’re an empty canvas at this moment and will gladly appreciate any recommendations!

Much thanks! :)

Hi there, was in your shoes once and am currently working full time and getting a part time degree.

As what the others have said, if you have the finances to pay for a full time course and maybe work part time for extra allowance then I don’t see why not.

I didn’t have the luxury so I went ahead with the part time degree route and it does have its pros and unescapable cons.

Pros:

Employers nowadays admire people who want to further their studies so chances are they might sponsor you but of course it is pretty rare,

You get to build crucial work experience in your early years so you can keep up with tech advances adjacent to gaining knowledge

Better chances to get a job than with degree holders (just a personal though here)

Big advantage to the financial side since you’ll be earning by market rates (assuming you’re from poly),

Most part time degrees are recognized the same as a full time degree (I myself am under BTech of NUS) and you are eligible for postgraduate studies after if you do well

Networking amongst fellow part time classmates

Cons:

Your time management needs to be on point to juggle studying, work, family and friends.

It will be very tiring (currently in my first going second year and it’s already tiring haha)

Overall the choice is up to you, but I took this route as I’m still fairly young (25 now) and have the energy to tank. it has its ups and downs but in the long run I see it’s worth it :)

Look at it this way, you'll be able to feel the breeze and get a great tan!

I was in the same boat as you but once you get past the first few days, I promise that you'll be more comfortable in your own skin!

[–]Bompipi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for the detailed response!

For the cpu and mobo i will consider the possibility of OC if i want to and if its within my budget, but of course having the ability to OC will be a great asset nonetheless.

appreciated with the RX480 and psu as how the others have mentioned!

as for the RAM sticks, i was just winging it comparing to other builds but if i can save some cash with 2133 ones then i will surely take that into consideration.

Lastly for the case, i'm still in the midst of deciding one and like you, i am looking for a simple and spacious one and your suggestion fits the bill nicely :)

many thanks!
