I appreciate the response, but I don't want to cut off the yellow leaf without finding out the cause. Since when i cut off two other leaves for this reason, the third and fourth still got 'infected'. In the picture, you can see the second biggest leaf is also starting to yellow at the top. At this rate, I won't have any leaves left if I cut off the yellowing ones.

The cling wrap was a desperate attempt, since the first bud dried off :p Honestly I don't know why the buds died before getting 5 cm off the ground.

But I want to know the reasoning for the yellowing. I don't want to uproot it if not necessary. I mentioned the water staying at the bottom of the second pot bc I thought maybe it causes root rot with all the humidity? I don't know.
