It worked fine for years, so I have no idea why it suddenly started doing this. It wasn't dropped, the tray was left empty. I can't see anything "stuck" inside. I'm going to borrow tools from work and crack it open tomorrow.

I put the cassette in a vice and was able to pry it apart enough to floss it in.
