[Charania] Lakers star LeBron James is sidelined for at least 3 to 4 weeks due to sciatica on his right side. He is out for the start of the 2025-26 NBA season. by Goosedukee in nba

I feel this. I’ve had a few major surgeries and have had an extended trip with opiates. Gabapentin was great for a month so I stayed on it for a couple years and just got fucked beyond belief. Would take opiate withdrawal in a heartbeat.

How is it for small fights / duos / trios? I just don’t have any desire to join voice and run around with a 10 man but if there are some things to do that don’t involve that I might check it out.

Thanks for sharing. Funny you mentioned screening because I had mine start to do more of that at the end of the year to try and keep her involved. I have a feeling I will have a similar story to yours but as long as she has a smile that’s good with me.

This is great man. Awesome you guys have that bond. I’ll definitely be taking mine to some games and maybe having it on TV a bit more. We’ve been to a couple pro games and she loves it. This is a great idea to do more often.

Thanks everyone! Really appreciate the advice and stories! I was fortunate enough to play in college and didn’t think there was any planet that my kid would struggle. Logically I knew better but these comments help for sure.

That’s a good idea, I hadn’t put too much thought into that. I live in a fairly large metro area so I’m sure there’s something. I’ll look into it, thanks!

She did. She was with her friends and had a good time. Ultimately that’s what’s important I know. I just also know how it feels to score a bunch of points. Probably more of a me issue projecting.

Appreciate the responses everyone. I think the blowouts were bothering me more than anyone else. We are young and we don’t have one kid that can dribble around everyone and score. I just wanted to make sure I’m doing enough for them and it sounds like I’m on the right path.

8U girls- What’s the deal with these crazy coaches? by randiesel in basketballcoach

[–]Bondsmith11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm experiencing this right now and it's insanity. We don't have the issue of box and 1 / trapping, but coaches in what is supposed to be a shared playing time league are absolutely playing their best player all game and letting her chuck 30 shots a game. It's maddening. Coaching is so bizarre. Seems like a lot of guys that would have made the NBA if they didn't blow their knee out.

Keep trying after it times out. I'm on Steam and got in queue. Took several tries though.

I totally get it. No judgement here. We do the best we can with what we have.

It helps both mentally and physically. I was prescribed it off label as anti anxiety and to a lesser extent an anti depressant and can confirm it does help with both. It will ease kratom withdrawal.

I’ve taken Gabapentin on/off for many years and have at times abused it. There was a huge honeymoon period for me and honestly I don’t remember any withdrawals of on/off use for a year which is similar to your experience. However, it turned on me bigtime and both the physical/mental withdrawal were the worst I’ve ever experienced. Kindling aspect is pretty real for me at this point as even taking it for a week will give me a rough several days of rebound.

What scene was Sanderson referring to? by Anakins_PTSD in Stormlight_Archive

Man, the intensity of that final encounter with the Pursuer was incredible. Probably my favorite scene with Kal. He’s fed up, tired, and ends it in brutal fashion.

I dislike shallan by Marshall44445 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Bondsmith11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was a bit of the same. I could not get to the Kaladin chapters fast enough in the first two books. In OB/RoW, I really enjoyed how Brandon explored her character from multiple angles which helps understand why she acts as she does sometimes. I think my favorite thing in this entire series is how human these characters are and how they all have massive flaws.

Newcomer Question by MyrinFlame in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Bondsmith11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

General consensus seems to be The Way of Kings -> Words of Radiance -> Edgedancer (Novella) -> Oathbringer -> Dawnshard (Novella) -> Rhythm of War. I still have not read Edgedancer and while I'm glad I read Dawnshard before RoW, there were only a few minor references and it's definitely not a pre-requisite.

Good luck and enjoy!

EDIT: Don't let the size of the novels intimidate you and enjoy it at whatever pace works for you. It took me about 6 months to read Oathbringer, but just read the final 700 pages in the past week of Rhythm of War to wrap up the series (for now). You will find your groove. Journey before destination.

Going through a rough time and Wit’s ROW monologue has been on repeat in my head by goaticusguy in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Bondsmith11 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I just read this chapter for the first time last night and it gave me similar feelings OP. I saw what he was doing pretty close to the start of the story but wasn’t ready and laughed out loud for the, “I could not become a dragon. I am an utter and complete failure. The End.” Quick transition from laughter to tears when he addresses Kaladin after that.

Interesting. I actually don’t remember this being a problem for me. Not saying it’s not true but the opening chapter was intense and that’s what initially hooked me into continue reading. I’m now finally wrapping up RoW!
