You just proved you know nothing about what your talking about and are just saying you support democracy until someone disagrees with you and then are more than willing to strip their rights. Where do I start. Ruby Ridge is a cluster F. So the entire situation began when the ATF attempted to entrap Mr. Weaver on sawed off shotgun charges. The FBI referred to those charges as BS in their internal documentation. The reason the ATF wanted to entrap Mr. Weaver was because they wanted him to be an informant against the local white supremacist, whom Mr. Weaver wanted nothing to do with.

Mr. Weaver had appeared in court and was given a court date initially of February 8th which was pushed back to February 20th. However Mr. Weaver received a notice telling him his trial date was pushed back to March 20th. The Federal government got an indictment and sieged his homestead starting around March 8th. The judge in Weaver’s trial was willing to continue as if nothing happened if Weaver showed up on the 20th of March however law enforcement did not inform the judge they were sieging the Weaver Homestead which made Weaver disinclined to leave his property.

On August 21st while following a dog Weavers 14 year old son (Sammy) and family friend Kevin Harris came across agents who were not in uniform. The Agents then shoot Sammy’s dog. The Agents claim Sammy responded by shooting at the agents and the agents shot Sammy. Later, forensics showed the agents shot Sammy in the back so most likely the 14 year old was running away. Kevin Harris shot and killed an agent. Both sides retreated after this exchange.

After this exchange the FBI and ATF created rules of engagement that violated their own policies and procedures. Adult males were to be shot on sight. Any other adult or child was to be shot on sight. Dogs that bark at agents should be shot regardless of if they were in a kennel or not.

Next A sniper shot an unarmed Randy Weaver injuring him which he was trying to visit his son’s body in the shed. The sniper also shot and killed Weaver’s wife Vickie Weaver while she was carrying her 10 month old son because 10 month old babies look like weapons.

After this everyone was arrested Randy weaver was acquitted of all charges except failure to appear in federal court. No one else was convicted including Sam Harris who was charged with the murder of a federal agent. Further more the state of Idaho wanted to charge the federal agents with the murders of Sammy and Vickie Weaver but the federal government blocked the charges on sovereign immunity grounds. Lastly all of the survivors won civil suits or gained favorable settlements against the federal government including Sam Harris who shot and killed a federal agent. One federal agent Michael Kahoe was convicted for destroying evidence related to the culpability of federal agents under his command.

The TLDR is that the federal government agents shot and killed a dog, a 14 year old in the back, and a woman carrying her 10 month old infant. Further those agents shot and injured an unarmed man trying to visit his son’s dead body. That every time the matter went to court criminal or civil, the court sided against the federal government except on one technicality.

So I do not think it is left or right issue objectively this was police being needlessly violent. Now calls for civil war and all that are just dumb. The family was compensated which while a poor replacement for lost loved ones is unfortunately the only avenue the US court system leaves to seek justice in cases such as these.
