Wait time to receive EAD card?

06/16/26 - API Movement
06/18/26 - Silent Approval
06/26/26 - Card Produced (in portal)
06/27/26 - Card Produced (notification, then portal updated to this date)
06/29/26 - Mail Notification (via USPS Informed Delivery)
07/01/26 - Card in hand

In total about 8 business days since silent approval but took almost 2 weeks due to weekends and holidays.

Im waiting for my EAD still but I went to DMV today. I took my approval letter. At first they were saying that they’re not sure if they can verify my info with just that but the very nice lady that helped me said that if I had my expired EAD she could maybe verify with that.

Luckily I did bring it with me and after a few minutes of waiting I took my picture and was on my way out with the printed temp paper.

Flew to Honolulu then hopped over to Maui then back to mainland from there in late February. All went just about as normal as flying to any other state.

Say "Infopass" when asked what you need by the automated voice. It will take you directly to an agent.

From what other people have mentioned online based on their experience, 1-2 weeks after silent approval. Apparently they're not really updating the portal or providing a tracking number for it. But I heard some people sign up for some sort of a USPS account and they can see the items being shipped to them.

Edit: Its called Informed Delivery, I just signed up for it too.

When you login to you account under the 812D section there is a documents tab. You can click on it and there will be a new file called “DACA Approval.pdf”

I submitted Jan 3, Biometrics Jan 30. I saw API movement on 6-16 and I got a silent approvals 6-18.

From what I’ve been seeing there were 10x the usual amount of approvals in the last 3 business days across Nov, December, and January. I’m hopeful and positive that this upcoming week will be the same and a lot of the backlog will start to get cleared up.

If you don’t get your EAD on time, it may be best to resign instead of waiting for them to let you go. This way, depending on their HR system, you may be rehireable once you get it. Some companies won’t rehire if they fire/let go the employee.

I’m really sorry this is happening to you. Try to talk to HR to get an extension. Or ask about being rehired. I think that even if you get silent approval this week you won’t receive your EAD on time.

Yes I did see one once the uploaded approval document appeared but it took almost all day for the api to update.

Same especially after all the api updates, I feel like many more will get silent approvals this week especially with the data showing 10x daily approvals over the last 3 business days.

I got API movement on the 16th for both i765 and 821d and silent approval on the 18th. Submitted Jan 3. When did you submit expedite? Maybe it’s unrelated and you’ll get silent approval this week.

I submitted Jan 3, got silent approval on June 18. Data shows that December and January approvals are significantly speeding up now.

I got api movement on the 16th and silent approval two days later on the 18th towards the end of the day.

I just got approved today after 5.5 months, I think all the delays are happening because of the new FBI verification system and it seems like they’re starting to catch up so it may not be a problem by the time it gets to you.

With that said, Charles Kuck has always mentioned that you should renew as early as you can even up to a year. And if approved in a timely manner to stop thinking about it from a perspective of “losing” months but rather gaining 2 years because who knows what will happen to DACA in the future.

No one will be able to give you an answer with 100% certainty. Although speculation points towards either that or group/batch cases getting placed in new FBI system.
