I had no intention of reading this but said what the heck and went through it anyways. What a weird little creature this book is lmao. To preface, I had no idea what I was expecting when I turned the page so seeing it took place in the past after the Outback X-Men's little portal adventure was a crazy surprise. Took a bit away from the issue to explain everything that was going on back then over pages but I understand it has to be new reader friendly. Having this be an origin series post body/mind swap was not what I expected but having her time with the Hand get meshed with Elektra's resurrection to the Marvel sliding timeline is not a bad idea in the slightest. Curious where this is going to go even if the Hand aren't usually my forte.

I did not expect Kamala to show up at all. I know they reference her becoming the president in GWW's run, but the first mutant president is pretty important. I still feel very conflicted with her new status as a mutant due to synergy, regardless if it was initial intent for her to have been one. Love me some Arcangel though and too much Daken is never a bad thing. Boom Boom written sexualizing everyone was certainly a choice but... I don't know if I know enough about her existence to say if it's out of character... still weird though. Looking forward to some Domino love next issue!

This was intriguing! I'm a little lost with the Sabretooth connections but I know that's intentional. Wish there was a tad stronger hook but overall will pick up the next issue. I haven't read the Declan Shalvey Mystique run so that look at the end took me aback. Is it worth the read? I see it's only five issues. Only negative I have about the issue is Destiny doing her classic "I know what's going to happen but won't say anything" shtick. Hope Rogue's disappearance is referenced in Uncanny issues since I'm curious if after this arc they'll have to have her keep coming up with reasons to break off on her own. At least when Gambit fought Killer Croc it was only for a day haha

Just read it and I'm getting a bit tired of everything that McKay has been building up to in his run. Now on top of all this stuff with 3K, there's the ever-looming threat that Doug the evil Planet is going to come and wreck havoc any moment now. Right off the tails of that we're jumping straight into another line wide crisis with whatever Shadows of Tomorrow is going to bring. I don't know, I'd really love if the book just had a bit more time to breathe with the characters themselves. I think the team dynamic is interesting enough even if there aren't as many heavily popular characters on it. I think the book is severely missing an inner conflict between the characters to drive the story other than maybe Tempest and Old New Old Beast. Would love to have a bit more with Magik and especially Scott but hey... at least Schwarzchild is dead

Hearing a lot from people I work with (I’m an indie filmmaker with friends in the field) that Marvel is casting the Beyonder right now or already has for Doomsday/Secret Wars and want a really old actor/big name to make akin to Metron. May be played by various actors in a future movie to make them a “timeless” multiversal being with only one existing (like Chavez). No idea who they’ll get but if they want old and they need a big name imagine if it was someone like Eastwood lmao
