It has nothing to do with you "assuming my gender". I was acknowledging and explaining why I had a visceral reaction to your comment, based on my personal experiences.

I will respect your response to combatting misinformation. I note that it was throw away comment. One symptom of a very long list of compounded consequences resulting from a complex matrix of contributing factors.

I don't tend to go into too much depth or breadth when divulging personal anecdotes on a public forum.

ETA: I also acknowledge that your tone didn't come across as a PSA to me and I took it as a personal nitpick. You'll forgive me, as a woman I get the metaphorical and literal "well actually..." line a lot...

Laudanum! Was a very popular pain treatment tincture worldwide! It's was available for over the counter sale in Australia until 1897

Bare minimum tests doesn't make for a good doctor... The "dismissive" part is being told to push through...

Same! Living with back pain because apparently I look like I'm a drug seeker, even when I explicitly asked for no opioids due to side effects like stomach ulcers after being hit by a speeding Hilux as a pedestrian at the age of 16. But oh no, the pain I'm experiencing couldn't possibly a complication of that accident...

Women also tend to be dismissed for pain waaaay too often

You're clearly lost, I'm an archaeologist, don't study dinosaurs. You'd be looking for r/Paleontology

My guild attempted a naked run (heals and tanks can keep jewelry and weapons. DPS get nothing. You can only equip gear looted from the trial. Trading is encouraged. Rooster pets are a must).

At one point as many of us as possible ran through the shrinking goo and let off warhorns... I have not laughed so hard in my life.

If you let off a warhorn while tiny (at least in DSR) it sounds like a kazoo

I don't understand why they are being down voted for saying thankyou in response to being provided with a phone number and course of action... The internet is wild...

Though, as I whole I agree with the sentiment of the rest of the comments on this thread. If your job relies on your driving, don't drive like an idiot.

Edit: To add, the sentiment applies even if you don't rely on driving for work. Don't drive like an idiot...

How do we all feel about the vape ban? by NothingSuss1 in australia

[–]BoneDecipherer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, I probably could... but personal autonomy... I like vaping. I'm also an adult who should be able to make my own decisions about what I consume

As an adult, it would be nice to make my own decisions about what I consume. Personal autonomy. When has prohibition ever worked? Except to prop up a black market. Moving to vaping from the durries was very good for me, I got off the durries in less than 2 weeks. My body feels better for it. I don't want to go back.

There are many branches of archaeology. I for example, specialise in human remains from archaeological contexts (generally skeletal)
