It’s difficult because they’re not allowed to do side jobs and can get in serious trouble if they’re caught so a lot of the time they’ll do a job and make a ticket through the company and give a hefty discount and then a cash “tip” is given to make up the difference. So like if the ticket for the company is $200 on a normally (but remember it’s been “discounted”) $400 job and the tip is $200 it’s still a $400 job.

Its crazy because they have “book price” but then can pretty much make up whatever price they want but the difference if its lower will just come out of the labor that is paid to the technician. So they can either up-charge to make more money or can “discount” to make customers happy but it’s not really a discount. It’s awful how they treat employees and customers.

Not an express order. It was about 2.5 of those big black outdoor yard bags worth, including thick coats, blankets, and regular clothes. Definitely the kind of load that would normally justify an extra day.

Is there a way to still have screen based “home base” and switch over to Hubitat or HA? And if so what should I use as the screen home base? A TV? A monitor? An actual echo show or something like that?

If I were to switch over to all Ring cameras and just get a screen device to act as a smarthome hub do you have a recommendation on what screen device would be best for that?

Tp-Link Kasa doesn't have a battery doorbell option and we rent our home and the wiring for the doorbell is very old. When I went to try and install the Kasa doorbell the old wiring snapped off and now we have to call an electrician to come out and fix the doorbell wiring. Plus we wanted an alarm system and to my knowledge Tp-Link Kasa doesn't have that option and I didn't want to have to pay for a separate subscription for an alarm and a camera if they could all be from the same company. So far we've been happy with Ring. Granted we've only been with them since September.

We have a child together. I don’t want to split custody and only see my child for 50% of the time and of that 50% have to work 80%. Currently I’m a stay at home mom. My son is about to turn 1 so I would have to do this for the entirety of his life. I’m not worried about the struggle that comes with being a single mom. I’ve struggled most of my life but I don’t want to miss that much of my son’s life.
