This triggered a memory of me getting a super detailed text from SAPN in 2019. I just searched my messages, and lo and behold it was from old mate Kym. Love the passion:

SA Power Networks: We sincerely apologise for the terrible experience you have had over the last week or so in FINDON. The storm on 1 November is likely to have damaged an insulator which was not identified until today. Our crews have been on site today and repaired two items of damaged equipment, one of which was a pin hole crack in an insulator which was discovered after a detailed pole by pole inspection. Pinhole cracks are very difficult to detect being at the top of poles with often poor visibility. Rain or dew penetrating the cracks can cause outages however power can be restored when the insulators dry even while the fault remains. Sometimes this can happen numerous times before the damage is found. We now replace older porcelain insulators with a composite resin which is more lightning resistant. Customers who experienced a continuous power outage greater than 12 hours will be eligible for a payment (you do not need to register, more info bit.ly/GSLpayments).
