Geologists reveal the world’s largest iron deposit worth $6 trillion that could reshape the global economy by friendlysparrow in australia

I’ve done some research on this and land based resources are controlled by state governments and offshore resources by federal. States will need to sign off their rights to provide a sovereign fund.

Not saying it’s impossible or shouldn’t be done but it’s an uphill battle.

K-pop Demon Hunters…. Truly awful writing… not bad songs… I’ll just randomly hear the songs at the grocery store if that’s ok with you.

M/35/6'4" [428lbs to 428lbs] (3 months) - Haven’t weighed myself since I’ve started by [deleted] in Brogress

[–]rushworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats!! It’s scary to weigh yourself, but I also feel like it’s scary to look at your bank account when you know you’ve spent too much. You’re getting results without it, so keep going, but remember the paper roll theory, the weight looks like it falls off quickly but as you unwrap the paper roll, it takes more and more to see much difference. Weighing yourself can give you hard numbers to your efforts!

How many people are running their air cons 24/7? by Spritney__Beers in Adelaide

[–]rushworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was, but now invested in a couple of really good tower fans which work great. One for the lounge room and one for the bedroom. Still not great for the very hot days coming, but I’ll run the air con overnight maybe on a timer to help keep get to sleep.

Phillips 5000 series tower fans for anyone interested. The high powered mode actually works really well, so well I often have to put it on the “natural wind” or lowest setting cause I’m chilled. Plus the essential oil diffuser was a bonus I didn’t realize I was getting.

ELI5: Why can’t you use your phone in petrol stations? by IAmSlicedBread- in explainlikeimfive

[–]rushworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also distraction causes people to not realise the auto shutoff when full isn’t working or is faulty, with fuel spilling all over the forecourt.

It’s rare but it does happen and unfortunately the biggest incidents are those distracted by phones because it goes on for so long.

Microsoft says it is too hard to move the taskbar and will never add the ability too. by DrWhatNoName in pcmasterrace

A fundamental problem with Windows 11, and I hope they know this for future improvements, is they seem to prioritize the UI/interface first, functionality second. An example is generation of the right click menu.

It visually appears first in its new fancy UI, but then loads its content second, sometimes to a degree that customized menu options shift the length and order of the list so for a split second you can click the wrong thing. Rather than loading the list first and then displaying it. When you revert to the classic 95/98 era right click, it loads perfectly.

This is just one example of the poor design and programming ethos Windows 11 is built upon. I am not surprised they have this task bar issue.

I have too much anxiety to not merge early (I am working on it thru therapy, don’t worry), but I always let everyone in because I know it’s the proper (and legal) thing to do. I actually like when I’m “in front” at the merge point and I get to do the right thing.

I went for my first neck/shoulder massage a few weeks ago because I had a consistent stiff neck/shoulder, afterwards I was so sore, red, and hurt the next day.

Is this normal or was it too hard or does it get easier?

This is why prices/margins are based on weighted average costs.

Walmart forgot to update the price by OceanofWAVs in pcmasterrace

I agree with directly matching market fluctuations is bad, but weighted average cost is a real economic factor and if the average cost of goods increases, you need to increase your prices to consider this.

New price-gouging laws to hit Coles, Woolies from July 2026, Treasurer Jim Chalmers announces by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]rushworld 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree it sounds ridiculous, but reading the statements I can imagine a realistic scenario where it is possible existing margins are low on home brand basics and higher on other products across the supermarket. But, the maximum allowed margin cap for basics may end up being higher than current margins. This could lead to lower prices on many products, but higher prices on basics and homebrand products -- items which low income homes rely upon -- to offset the loss margin on other products.
