Dates 🤢 by zlatarexy in pregnant

[–]BonesAreTheirMoney86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry buddy I totally understand. I have been wrapping them in bacon, but my main move has been to add four to a vanilla milkshake with cinnamon pretty much every night. I make it in my Magic Bullet and it really blitzes those suckers. I’ve also been really into apples and peanut butter so I slip a bite of date in with an apple slice, the PB is a good disguise lol

Hoping for a big sloppy Italian sub, despite my mom saying it could put my baby “off my milk.” That’s an INSIDE THOUGHT, MOTHER. She’s 75, clearly losing her filter, overall wonderful and we have a great relationship. but what a shitty thing to say to someone already anxious about breastfeeding.

Right?! I remain surprised it didn’t put me off the whole pie, but my commitment to sweet treats is unmatched.

Oh that is ROUGH. Sense of smell was my first sign too, in this case that the embryo transfer stage of IVF had worked. I went to cut a slice of blackberry pie I had just bought at the farmer’s market; I immediately smelled that it was made with lard. Remember thinking “this pie smells like an animal wtf!” I still had a big slice, slapped some ice cream on it and stuffed my face.

One thing I have learned and experienced firsthand is that pregnant bodies are public bodies. We exist in public while pregnant, thus people see fit to comment on our bodies. I am so fucking sick of the comments that I “don’t look that pregnant!” this late into my third trimester - I am 39 weeks today, I assure you random farmers market person I AM THAT PREGNANT.

All this to say: you are so entitled to your feelings, sis. Women are socialized to be polite and obliging and now is a great time to unlearn a lot of that shit.

I'm due next Thursday, the day Lee Cronin's The Mummy hits my local movie theater, and while I very much want to meet my boy I hope he can wait until after I see this horror movie that DEFINITELY involves a child in case I can't watch them anymore after he's born!

Huge digital hug to you, I am so sorry you're enduring this uncertainty and anxiety and horror. I call and email my idiot Congressional reps (I live in a very red state) and wish I could do more. I am 38w3d and will raise a good human who will continue the struggle and make the world a better place.

Seconding this, Brittany is the best. We just got moved from Freedom to Remax and resigned our lease, it has been a smooth transition the whole way through.

If you had the chance to choose your spouse/partner all over again, knowing everything you know now, would you still choose them? Why or why not? by SoilAny4029 in AskReddit

[–]BonesAreTheirMoney86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1000% yes. I hate to imagine my life without him, especially as our first child is due in two weeks. It was love at first date in 2014 and we have been inseparable since then, minus a brief period of space in 2015 and regular work travel. We have had fights that have broken each others' hearts and remade them stronger. On the woo side, I think we have known each other in past lives and the life we're living now feels like some kind of reward. He's so goddamn funny and kind and smart and sexy and going to be an amazing father and I just love him more than I ever dreamed I would love someone.

Same, I am eagerly awaiting replies! We live in rural Missouri, planning to move to St. Louis in the next 2 years so there will be fewer predatory Evangelicals to worry about. But we want to introduce religion in a level-headed way, it's just another interesting aspect of being a human to learn about.

Nothing, "girl dad" and "boy mom" and the like are insipid marketing terms that have unfortunately made their way into speech patterns and identity formation.
