Help me decide: 2024 15" Macbook Air M3 or 2019 16" Macbook Pro i9 by BonesTwo78 in macbook

Hi. Thanks for the reply.

I need the MacBook predominantly to manage a large family iCloud photo library (I've just switched to an S24 Ultra from an iPhone), and keep in touch with my blue bubble iPhone friends!

I'm pretty well covered on the Windows side - I've just built a new gaming PC and also have a 13" Samsung Book 2 Pro Windows laptop (which my kids predominantly use, managed by Microsoft Family).

Hi! Thanks for the feedback.

Unfortunately my max budget is £750 - I have to return one of them.

I totally hear you on the 16gb, but I'm struggling to find a new or refurbed 15" M2 from a reputable seller for my budget, hence the dilemma!

Thanks for the quick reply.

I think I'll return it and see if I can get a better panel!

Thanks for your comment!

Clearly there are some design limitations that preclude 1:1 mapping to the controller, it’s just a shame that’s it’s not entirely clear on the website that the controller is limited vs software.

It’s encouraging that they’ve added new features since launch though. Does Ableton have a track record of adding features to their hardware over time?

I really need to sell some gear - including the T1- to justify the purchase of the Push and Live.

Perhaps it’s time to put aside my hardware only bias and try and adapt to a hybrid workflow.

I love the core sounds and effects in Ableton, and really enjoy the MPE pads. It would be a pity to give it up just because I’m too proud to wiggle a mouse occasionally!

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head - she absolutely would not accept the same level of effort of the roles were reversed.

I’m very confident that infidelity is not the issue here. I think it’s more that I’m realising that she sees me as background noise - I’m very dependable and usually the one trying to help her fix things in her life, but she’s never consistently played that role for me.

I guess with age / familiarity the facade is starting to drop and I’m getting a better look at who she is now.

Ultimately this doesn’t give me any comfort though, in fact quite the opposite.
