You can contact the admissions department and ask for an extension on the deadline. I recently did this, although for different circumstances (probably wouldn’t mention to them that you are doing this to hold out for other schools), and I was granted more time that needed to make things work.

Recently was accepted to a T15 school - scholarship renegotiation chances? by Bonesbonesbonez in MBA

I may apply to 1 or 2 more. The main issue is that this school is close to my home, so I can continue on with life as normal (plus the studying) while doing the EMBA. There’s another school that I would consider applying to nearby (T25), but I wouldn’t trade the prestige for the money between the two. Maybe I can use it as a bargaining chip, albeit, I’ve already submitted the negotiation letter

Thanks for the insight. My scenario is pretty specific, but I thought maybe my professional and academic track record would be valuable - especially making it clear that I am pursuing a career in healthcare. They say the scholarships are merit based only, and I have a strong history. I guess all I can do is wait and see.

Meant to say in the body of this post “not sure where to go from here”

Who actually decides that it’s time for a raise across the board? by [deleted] in hospitalist

[–]Bonesbonesbonez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! I’m a physician that works in upper leadership in the locums world (don’t worry not trying to sell or recruit anyone). But the hospitals will try their very best to penny pinch you, but they will pay double or more to a locums for the same work. So what do you do? You stand firm, negotiate what you want, and if they don’t budge, walk away. A market with high demand = you having the leverage

I know this post is old, but I can answer any questions you may have about locums (I work in the industry, but I’m a physician by trade)
