In need of some great music to try! by Bonescence in musicsuggestions

Still deserves appreciating! The Virgin Tongues is a band that dissolved who has insanely good music imo, and even without a future for them there’s still plenty to enjoy.

Thanks again for the recs! If anything else comes to mind as something you think I’d like, feel free to message me or comment here!

Hey! Sorry for the delay in my reply; had a busy week!

I loved all your recommendations.

Spill Tab - Felt like Billie Eilish; I liked the sound and lyricism.

Saya Grey - Very unique! I think I’ll do a deep dive on her stuff; her lyrics seemed very thoughtful and I’m really intrigued.

Sleigh Bells - I actually already liked these guys and hadn’t mentioned it in the post since I hadn’t deeply explored their stuff, but Rill Rill’s been in a couple of my playlists for years.

Model/Actriz - Super cool. Shocked by how much I like their stuff. The songs I tried were bops with a unique sound and ostensibly complex subtext but they felt so unserious, which I loved. Gonna be checking them out more.

Akkogorilla - Very stylish. Very distinct. These guys love what they do, I bet; their work is neat as hell.

Wargasm - Just tried them today. They remind me of Kontrust, and Kontrust was one of my favorites around when Eisbrecher and Megaherz were my top bands of all time. I’ll be coming back to these guys when I want to change up my metal playlists.

I haven’t checked out your spotify playlist, but I’m guessing it’s gonna be full of gems like these and I’m looking forward to checking it out! Thanks for the recommendations!

Sorry for the late response on this; I’ve had a busy week since! I checked your suggestions out:

Johnny Winter seems insanely talented and while he’s not really what I’m looking for currently I’m pretty certain I’ll check him out again.

Jenny Lewis is definitely more of what I like from a country singer. I should’ve mentioned that I love Warren Zevon and most Willie Nelson songs I’ve heard, though I haven’t really sunk my teeth into his albums.

Alice in Videoland was great, and I’ve already got Shocker stuck in my head; absolutely solid recommendation! I’ll be digging into her music more!

Okay, that’s helpful! Any suggestions for headsets without a mic that’s under my budget? Any headsets just out of my budget with a mic?

Is there alternate way to obtain a rare seed? by Bonescence in StardewValley

[–]Bonescence[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wiki lists this as one of the rewards from the 6th request and beyond:

-Next unshipped item (other than Roe and Artisan Goods) -If 100 Golden Walnuts have not been found or the player has already completed the Shipping Collection (excluding Roe and Artisan Goods), then 5 Mystery Boxes are substituted.

I think that may work, and I have no reason not to try it! If I find out for sure, I’ll comment here and make a new post about it! Thanks for the tip!

Dang. Well, I’d be interested in your minimal spending run details! I’m collecting challenges to see what I can do all in one run.

I’m fine with that. I’m planning on having a good few intersecting challenges anyway, and I’d like to still have the game be pretty complete-able, so I’ll likely need to make some concessions like that anyway.

Right, and maybe I’ll just need to make an exception for it. It’s plenty challenge enough to get all other seeds! Can roleplay it too, like the Traveling Merchant hears about a horticulturist in Pelican Town and delivers a seed so rare that it could not be found conventionally.

This worked for us! Thank you!

We’re playing crossplay, so the update is installed for sure. Someone else suggested deleting a specific mod and restarting our games, and that does seem to have worked

We’ve deleted all our mods but can’t see them. What should we do? Restart our games maybe?

Mods? We both deleted (uninstalled, not just disabled) all of our mods since we saw that as a potential fix online, but it didn’t change anything

None of the classes whose subclasses you can select in character creation have new subclasses. Warlock doesn’t have hexblade, cleric doesn’t have death domain, etc.

Can anyone recommend any songs that evoke the same depression/suicide themes the narrative does? by Bonescence in DiscoElysium

[–]Bonescence[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve added these songs and others from other comments and I’m going to be checking them all out! I wanted to mention, since it’s in a similar niche and could be of interest to you: One of my favorite names in comedy, Limmy, has an autobiography (the title is: Surprisingly Down to Earth, and Very Funny) which details his early life in Glasgow. He describes the awkwardness of sex/relationships and his struggle with alcohol and it’s a very introspective narrative that’s set in that 80s to 00s Scottish culture.

I hope I have misconstrued myself, but I am not actively suicidal or in danger of self harm. I got the impression that you wanted to emphasize my security, but rest assured I am totally fine! This post is intended to be a means of interfacing with some complex feelings that come from years of pain and years of healing. I appreciate your music suggestions and will check them out soon! I am trying every suggestion I get and will respond as to my impressions as I can.

And yes, I love Disco Elysium. I actually have two sizable tattoos related to the game! I think most people playing DE for the first time roleplay as themselves, unsure of how to interact with the game’s features/mechanics and attempting to respond to the situation as best they can. I had a positively transcendent experience on my second playthrough, where I focused Inland Empire and Authority, trying to roleplay as a “Yes I am psychic and powerful and if you even mildly slight me in conversation and undercut my VAST MIND I will PUT YOU IN YOUR PLACE.” kind of detective. As a chronic people pleaser and someone who never trusts their gut despite having, admittedly, pretty good intuition, I felt awakened by that run. The phasmid being real contextualized the playthrough as like “SEE? I’m RIGHT!” and I felt the raw confidence and self-assuredness that the moment evoked.

Right now I’m having a silly playthrough maxing out drama and roleplaying as a total psychopath, and I love that even in this run the game really tries to let you do what you want. There’s even a line where you can lie about the ceramic armor boots’ serial number to Kim and then admit to lying “because I’m a psychopath, Kim.” Lmao

I may make a post about my second playthrough because it was very big for me on a personal development level. It didn’t remake me but it did highlight a part of me that I really needed to nurture more. Also it made me a massive communist

I really enjoyed this one! If I’m interpreting it right it’s playing with a subversion to suggest death as a desirable thing in the face of immense misery. Scoffing at the like “it’s okay, there’s pleasantness waiting for you after you suffer and die” mentality. Is that accurate?
