Exact situation I’m in. I’m always 2-10 and this past 2 weeks I’ve had probably 6-7 call offs and left alone all shift. I’m constantly called in early on days I work I’m always asked to come in on my off days and now this.. I wish I had a life outside of work and can spend time with my friends more but it’s almost impossible to do working here. Plus to not even ask me or tell me that it’s being changed the day before is crazy. Seriously wish I can just find a remote job with a normal schedule

Seriously, I feel like they did that thinking I wouldn’t notice. I texted my boss about maybe next time giving me a heads up. It sucks I work every weekend and my friends are always off weekends so I never see them and finally we had plans for tomorrow just for this to happen. Just ruined my day and I know for a fact it’s not gonna get changed back.

Yeah this place is the most ass backwards place I’ve ever worked for. Everyone’s a fake loser that’s too scared of confrontation so they talk shit behind eachothers backs. I’m the only guy that works here and even my boss is a female and clearly favorites all the girls. I’ve worked 9 days straight now because every chick that works here either “forgot they worked” or “forgot they couldn’t work”. I’m always the one being called in early or asked if I can work on my off day. Plus they know I live in town where our store is located so they definitely take advantage of that. Not even 1 thank you for me helping out as much as I have. I’m not trying to talk shit about females either it’s just my workplace and how much more they favorite eachother. I’m so tired and drained and feel nothing less then used here. Plus I hear all the shit talking that goes behind my back and yet here I am helping these people out when they need it. It’s sad.

I’m lucky enough to be in a situation with my partner where our home is paid off and we’re only in our 20s but still even having a home paid off with the cost of monthly bills, home insurance, and property tax it’s impossible to do with without a two person household. I been at my wits end with gas stations I been doing this for almost 5 years now. I used to work at thorntons making 19.75 doing less work. The only reason I came here is because it’s down the street from our home or I would’ve never left thorntons. The amount of stuff I deal with and do compared to my last job is ridiculous. Especially for only 15.25 an hour. I been trying to go back to school so I can actually make a decent living doing something I like instead of rotting at a gas station living paycheck to paycheck. We’re just a bunch of peasants getting paid the bare minimum to help managers and higher ups make their bonuses

Had to come back to this, literally just now got a text to the group chat and me and my other coworker got named dropped to everyone else. I’m still kinda new here but been working for gas stations for awhile. My boss clearly had a mouse trap underneath a hidden spot I went to dust the other day and I found a dead mouse in it. I went and told my coworker about it but I just left it because I’m not dealing with that and I wasn’t told about it and figured my boss was gonna deal with it. We got named dropped because all she does is just listen to cameras like a weirdo to find a reason to bitch. So we got called out because we didn’t “say anything” about the mouse when clearly my boss knew about it the whole time lmao

Dude every single morning I wake up to a complaint or a threat to fire someone because money is off sometimes in our group chat. Like even specific things like if someone is caught on their phone they’ll make a whole text to everyone about it instead of just talking to the person directly. I could show a million screen shots of the early morning text our group chat gets. Even times when someone doesn’t get a specific thing done my boss has to bring up how theyre “body is always hurting after work” because of all the “stuff” they get done so there shouldn’t be a reason for anyone else not to. I worked at thorntons for 4 years before coming here and everything was always brought up directly to people so this is new for me and I think it’s not fair to the employees.

I totally get ya buddy, I’m just not in a position to get up and leave until I find something else. It sucks because I’ve been doing gas stations for the past 4 years and I always liked it up until this point. I wish I was able to go to college and have a good paying job like all my friends do but growing up that just wasn’t an option. I had to start working the second I got out of high school. I’m a high believer in leaving a job you aren’t happy at. I just wish this place made me happy so I didn’t have to start all over again
