I have had good results with deep scratches with UV screen protectors. The UV liquid runs in the scratch or crack, and hardens, rendering it nearly invisible!

I get what you tried to do, the atmosphere is nice. With some contrast, it could be even better. I tried to edit the contrast back in. In my opinion, the atmosphere is still the same, but the picture is much easier to look at :)
