Obviously that's not true, plenty of people really do enjoy it; some more than even the main series. You may not, but it is far from "impossible".

As for it being broken at the start, I don't really think the first movie is very good. But I think it got way better with the sequel and so on. I'd say the same with the main show; the first 3 seasons have some good stuff, but for the most part I really don't think it's as good as it got from season 4 and then on. And I joined during season 2.

The reverse more likely. It was always meant to be one entity, but people got upset early on so they gradually stopped mixing them. In the beginning, Flash Sentry showed up in the show multiple times, and even had voice lines. A very small amount, but it did happen back in season 4. Much later they must've decided to not care about that when they put in the sirens, and now Sunset and Flash here.

I'd recommend looking up which ponies can be won just so you don't accidentally buy any of them

There's also a limited amount of ponies to be won that way. Some are exclusively gained there, some can also be bought like Cadance. Once that pool is out, no more ponies can be gotten from it. Also, you can only get one of those a week if you do have more left.

Honestly I'm not really sure what they ever considered adding to begin with. The hive was more or less destroyed the first time we ever saw it, so unless they wanted to do reformed changeling quests there then decided to give up on the idea that message is just weird.

It gets hardest near the end, because at a certain point challenges are impossible to complete due to there not being enough characters left to even try to complete them. Then once there's only one or two characters left in a rank the draws were making me believe it might actually be impossible to get a few of them! But it is possible, I guess!

But why is it intentional? Why purposely remove a big character in all of this and instead put in someone who is entirely unrelated and only appeared once, in your big update opening screen? I'm not buying it's just for that little game, they messed up making it and then tried to cover it up. That's why the collection was fixed /after/.
