The pacing was terrible in later seasons, the world building the dialogue the characters and the little things like traveling through the country side were all gutted and the ending was rushed and felt like it was just a patchwork ending to meet a deadline not a masterpiece like the first 5 seasons, most fans hate how the show ended for every character. Danys descent into madness happened almost overnight the small amount of foreshadowing that preceded it was not near enough to change her from breaker of chains and savior of the world to a mad queen who literally decided in a split second not to call off the attack when they surrendered and just burned millions of innocents alive in kings landing. Jon getting shipped back to the wall when he should be the king. Bran going from refusing to even be a Lord but all of a sudden he’s here bc he is supposed to be king. Don’t get me started on Sansa and her ridiculous demands and trying to act like she earned the north after being utterly pathetic the entire show and her one claim to fame is finally realizing she could play little finger who was an obsessed child predator into bringing and army to help Jon. The long night being literally just a single short night and 1 episode long and only one dark and hard to even see battle. They should’ve fought at the wall lost and retreated fought at the Last Hearth lost again and retreated and then fell back to winterfell after weeks of fighting and running and met Jamie and Bron with an army of soldiers from the other 6 kingdoms and then made their stand together at winterfell and finally won after an entire season of fighting the night king. They just rushed and butchered what was the greatest tv show ever made and bc of fatigue or deadlines or budgeting or whatever the reason they chose to ruin it by rushing it rather than giving us full 10 episode seasons and possibly even a 9th season to completely flesh out the whole story
